Yes, this is where I've been getting hay since Marty Sapp took over that barn. They're great folks and their orchard/alalfa mix is great. My horses clean it up and are staying in good condition with it. Most reasonable prices I've heard of also. Thanks again

count yourselves lucky to have a good hay barn w/ good hay. There is a place here in Battle Ground called Mauls..they have a huge supply of hay, but i wont buy from them...2 problems : the hay is moldy on the inside, u never kno wat ur gonna get and the owners wife is truly a HAG. she screams rudely on the fone and hangs up on you. And Elaine, ur lucky if all Mi Amigo does is not look at you wen he's peeved at you. Buck and Lark poop in their water buckets, instead

ROTFL bsnlark...the owner isn't any better! He's a JERK!
Rietdyk's on McCarty has beyoooooutiful hay. Not cheap but the alfalfa is to die for and I've never seen a speck of mold. That's where I get the hay for my girls.

Hello everyone. I'm new here. I found this forum indirectly via a post on the DSLD-Equine group regarding Mi Amigo and would like to extend an invitation to Elaine (and anyone else who is interested in learning) to please join us at: groups.yahoo.com/group/DSLD-equine/ to learn more about DSLD/ESPA and current treatment/management of DSLD/ESPA horses. You'll also find lots of info at: dsldequine.info/ including exam protocols and information regarding the current research by University of GA and Dr Gus Cothran at TX A&M. best wishes, ~Ruth

Thanks Ruth, I'll be checking this site out. Amigo has been acting kind of sluggish the last couple of days, but is eating and drinking. Doesn't feel feverish or act like he's in pain. No sign of any swellings anywhere. Just not acting quite right. Maybe just this extended period of cold. Shiraca and Shalizar aren't as active as usual either, so probably as tired of winter cold as I am. We still have several inches of snow and more expected tonight. Thanks again, Elaine

Mi Amigo is still waiting for a new home. He's doing quite well and did very well for his last hoof trimming a month ago. He is a real sweetheart and deserves better than I can give him.

Amigo has dropped weight this winter. He's spent much of it shivering. I bought a padded winter blanket for him, but he managed to rip a leg strap and the belly strap off, so he has only had the trees for shelter. He is still eating well and romps some when the weather stays dry for a couple of days. My plans for him now are to let him have this spring and summer, then do the really difficult, and have him put down before cold weather next winter. I would still love to have him rehomed, but know everyone is having it rough with the gas and feed prices skyrocketing. I haven't been on line recently, so sorry not to have answered sooner.

Hi Gingersmom-tate,
Couldn't figure out how to PM you. I'm just not very computer savvy. Thank you for the suggestion and offer. I went ahead and ordered a blanket for him. it looks like a better one than he had. I have taken care of it. Thank you very much. Elaine
