Logan is a complete sweetheart!
Gosh, we all got there early (9am)- the boy was munching on breakfast, still sleepy (uhh...like all of us?! LOL) Didn't seem to care at all coming out to work at such an hour.
He's very very very sweet, super gentle, and so so well mannered!
Riding him was great too! He's super safe, never once did I feel like I was in danger. He doesn't feel big at all and his TB "A" frame body makes him very easy to sit.
He definitely has the knowledge in there, its just a matter of getting his body to reconnect with it. That'll come with consistent riding and building strength in all the right places. We had a lot of fun, though I must say my eyes and nose were watering in a few short minutes of trot! LOL
Walking out to the pasture, through the outdoor- he just walked along. The hardest part was the actual walking because the ground was is so frozen.
Huge thumbs up for Mr Logan. I can't wait to play with him again next week!

Just wanted to update everyone on Logan. He's been doing great!!! He's being ridden or lunged every other day for the last eight weeks and physically he's been holding up great. I really believe that with consistent riding, and the right riding he will continue to get stronger.
I know it's the winter and it's hard to think about adding a horse to your family--but spring is on the way--and he's ready for a forever home.
If anyone you know is a little interested let us know--he is sooooo sweet and soooo well trained.
Thanks, Karen

I've been wondering too! We don't have the means for a horse until we buy a house and get everything sorted out, but he sounds perfect for my boyfriend! (Getting ahead of myself there, though.. I really shouldn't be window shopping! hehe However, I've been keeping an eye on Logan since I joined and I hope he finds an amazing home!

Sorry you guys--I haven't been checking for about a week! Logan is doing great!! So far he has been sound with the level of work we've been doing--a couple of rides a week and some lunging. Because of the weather I have to use a 62 ft round pen--so we've actually been putting more stress on his hocks than I would like--but it seems just fine for him. Haven't given him any bute since I took possession of him 3 months ago. Most importantly is his disposition. He listens, has obviously had a lot of training, doesn't overeact when outside things are happening--dogs running, foals playing, loud noises. Under saddle he's never spooked, run off or really done anything "scary". To ride--he is lovely. He's light, has great suspension, and again listens and tries very hard. I've been working on strengthening his back end--just nice and slow--coming along nicely. His weight is perfect, his muscle tone has improved greatly in the last eight weeks. He's agressively shedding right now and we think some of that is just better nutrition. If anyone is even just a little bit interested I would encourage you to call me. I also welcome anyone to come visit him--ride or just spend time around him to see how you feel. He's located in Carnation--just about 30 minutes from Redmond or Issaquah. My phone number is 425-681-3504. Thanks for asking!! Karen

Hi everyone, wanted to give another update on Logan. Jamie guessing you check this often--I would like for you to contact me and let me know if you've had ANY inquires about Logan. My phone again is 425-681-3504.
The gal from Little Bit Theraputic Riding Center came out last week to test him for their program and he passed with flying colors. Threw the ball around him, even against his barrel, dropped the bucket behind him, put the plastic ring on his ear--you name it she did it! He was great and they are interested in taking him into their program on trial sometime this summer if he doesn't find a another home.
I do believe that would be a fine placement--but still believe that a private owner would be a better situation because of his level of training, and his sweet, loving disposition.
We have started him on Adequan for preventative measures. He is a little short on his front right--which we expected over time--so hopefully this will help. His attitude hasn't changed at all--he's still willing and has a great attitude.
He's put all of the weight on that he needed to with little adjustment to his feed, he has shed his winter coat--probably due to better nutrition. Pulled his mane and gave him a shave and he looks like a million bucks! Muscle tone has started to return.
Again would love to place him in a private home so if you know of anyone who wants to ride 3-4 times a week, trail ride, etc. please contact me.
I'll try to post some new pictures soon.
Thanks,
Karen 425-681-3504

I cannot believe this horse has not been adopted! I wish my situation was better so I could have him, he sounds like what I need. Is he available for a partial lease until he gets adopted??

Wanted to let everyone know that Logan continues to do well. The Adequan has worked very well! The vet was out a couple of weeks ago and watched him and saw NO lameness in the front at all. This vet met Logan early on when his original owner had decided to euthanize him--the vet came out to look at an injury. He couldn't believe it was the same horse--put all the weight on, beautiful coat--but still that lovely, people loving attitude. He recommended to keep him on the monthly dose which we will do. He's being ridden and we continue to work on strengthening his back and back end. The vet said that Logan is well suited for low level dressage--a program would be great for him. Truly he's ready to be in a program. It's a little tough for me to ride him as often as he needs with my work schedule. Again if you know of anyone that might be interested please contact me--also if anyone knows a 4-H leader that is looking for additional horses he would be great--please pass the information. I will be giving new pictures to Jamie tonight so those should be posted soon. Thanks as always for everyone's support. Karen (425-681-3504)

He is a good looking boy. He seems a little tall for my wife as she (and I) is just a beginner. I have proven adept at falling from my own 17.2 TB and she hasnt been blessed with quite as thick a skull. So many considerations.
