I know King was on the other side of the bridge to welcome Lily.
Thank you to everyone that helped Lilly.

I keep trying to write something loving and encouraging for Lily and all those who are feeling her loss... but every time I come into this thread I start to cry again and can't think. We were all so hopeful for every horse that came from this group of rescues, it's hard to have that sort of loss. Thank you to everyone who did the right thing and made her last memories great.

I am so very sorry for all of you who loved and worked so hard for Lily. Jaime, you've done nothing to be ashamed of. If you had gone Lily would have felt your heartbreak and it could have made it harder for her. Now all she knew of you is love. Pam

Bless you for all you have done for this most precious little girl. Her life was short, but she knew so much love from you, more than most horses could ever dream of having. Lily will forever have a place in so many hearts. She was a brave little angel who fought so gallantly.
It is easy to second guess your decision to not be there at the end. Many of us have torn ourselves up with "if onlys", but the truth is, Lily knows what was in your heart and it is clear to all of us that you dealt with this situation with such grace and courage. You are stronger than you ever thought you could be. You fought for her and then you somehow picked up the pieces and continue to fight on for the other hurting and unwanted horses that still need you. Lily can be proud with a legacy like this.
Thank you to all who gave everything to save her.

I tried to come with something meaningful to say, I feel like I've been living vicariously through your updates on these guys. Except that I'm no good at the mushy stuff : \.
These decisions are never easy - I've had a few animals I couldn't bear to go to their euthanasia, namely the dog we had since I was 1 until I was 18 and the dog I picked out at 7 who died when I was 21. Losing them is so hard, but you (and we, through your pictures and stories) will always have the memory to remember and smile at (or possibly, as I'm doing now, cry about).

OMG that is so very sad. You can just tell by her big kind eye that she was a sweet girl. May she rest peacefully.
