Another amazing turnaround! I want to go live with Chelsea - wait, that's not the type of turnaround I need. She is a beautiful mover, I can't wait to see how she progresses when we get her into training.

Yes when the vet did her dental she did not show any signs of a galvayne's groove so she is approximately 10-12 years old. I think she will be a super quick study in training. She is TINY so she will have to go to a very petite person or a child but she is quite sweet and aside from her initial spook over new stuff she immediately settles down and is very reasonable to handle.

I'm a broke rescuer and perpetually on a diet so there's usually nothing here but bags of frozen green beans, frozen diet dinners (whatever is on sale for $2 or less), egg whites, veggies, apples, carrots, and cases of diet coke!

She's even more amazing looking in person you guys! A sweetie and with some foundation put in place, hopefully she'll make a good kids horse someday! Trailered like a champ today, too!

Yes Liz was a HUGE help today.....while miss Heidi-ho was good about loading she was full of anxiety so Liz wisely loaded and unloaded her so that she relaxed a bit. She hauled willingly and quietly and was a resonable, if exited, at Monicas. I have to confess to missing her little self but I know that training with Monica will giver her the best chance of a great loving home in the future!

Heidi is settling in nicely I dropped her a couple flakes of hay after Chelsea and Liz left. Hay dropping from the sky was a very scary thing for her - she jumped back and without skipping a beat, and with equal excitement, jumped into it! boy she can really clean up hay! And she is very food motivated. She is a real sweet heart, She melted Wendy's heart when she put her head in her arms. I can't wait to get started with her!

I met sweet Ms. Heidi on Sunday at Monica's. She was standing so sweetly in her stall with her head out watching the other horses. She is very curious and would come up to sniff me and the girls. Then Monica attacked her with this big blue thing! Oh wait - it was her warm and cozy blanket. Once she realized she would get to eat her mash once her blanket was on she settled right down. She is quite a hoover with her food - no problems getting this little one to eat!

Ahhhh yes the road to miss Heidi's heart is paved with horse food LOL And yes she is pretty spooky about EVERYTHING but settles down quickly and truly wants to please. When you consider her previous life was one paddock with her mother and aunt for ten years and only being handled to have her feet done once a year whether she needed it or not she is my superstar hero! She loaded for strangers to leave her mom and Aunt to come to me where had to wear a halter and blanket, let me brush her, pick her feet out, let herself be caught(everyday twice a day - horrors) and get bathed, clipped, have a dental where the put POWER TOOLS in her mouth!, re-loaded to go to yet another strange place I think she is AMAZING and when I grow up I want that kind of courage to take on whatever life brings me! Heidi is my hero!

Heidi strikes me as just uneducated for her age and not at all dumb. Remember when you were trying to get the blanket off and she was dancing about and I kind of just gave her the eye and growled HO at her and she immediately gave up and stood? That is a smart horse. I think she will get over being spooky as she is exposed to more and more experiences.

Short update on Heidi:
"Heidi is doing really well, she is working hard to be a good girl! She is now leading like a pro, and is very polite with her feet. We are learning to deal with fear and pony eating obstacles, and she is very smart and willing."
