Thank you for the updates. I know she is in the best of hands with you. Jingles for clearing up the loose stools.

When she can handle it let me know and I would be thrilled to 'sponsor' a Panacur Power Pak.
Round worms cause explosive runs - while mature horses usually build up an immune to the round worm - they (matured horses) can still become infested....Lord olny knows what that dear sweet girl has been exposed to.
All of mine get Power Pac'ed in April and October with rotational deworming every 8 weeks*. (*The yearly pak from Country Supply is $37.00 - per horse). I didn't use to Power Pak - until I saw SUCH huge differnce in an old mare that we rescued - with the runs from here to your place- and the Vet suggested she get power paked - WOWZIERS! Ever since then I do them like clock work - Feed store price is right @ $85.00 / catalog right at $50.00. Anyway - if you want and when you are ready - let me know.

Sounds great Gala thank you so much for this kind offer!.......She was very wormy. The girl who originally took her in had a fecal sample done and she was LOADED with worms. They dewormed her and I did it again with Ivermectin last weekend but she for sure should get Panacur. She also had a whopper lice load and I am going to re-dust her for the 3rd time this weekend. So anytime you would like I would be happy to do the Power Pack. I will check with the vet to make sure she is okay to deworm again in the next week or two but I am sure he will say to go ahead and do it.

Do you need some more YeaSacc? I have some that I bought in December, and I am not longer needing it, as I am a Dynamite Distributor now... Would you like it? I could send it to you. I might have a couple of other supplements that I don't need anymore.. Just PM me your address if you need it, and I can send it your way.

You guys are Awesome! And yes to all of the above! I was hoping to not have to lice dust her again as that stuff is pretty toxic but she is looking like she is losing hair on her face.....it is hard to see nits on white hair...but I suspect she needs dusting again. And she will be on Yeasacc for months to come so if you are not using it I will cheerfully accept it on her behalf!

Well I am kinda bummed....her poop seems worse than before. I had high hopes she would come around on the Kaopectate. I will keep her on it and see where we get. She is very bright and I see the beginnings of a little personality peeking through. She is very sweet.

the poop will have peaks & valleys - it's so random - good indication on the brightness though - hang in there!

Okay we had VERY good day yesterday! Miss Heidi was able to stand for the farrier.......I realize that seems so normal for most horses but she was so weak 4 weeks ago that we could only trim her fronts and that was with a lot of anxiety on the part of Heidi. There was no way she could have balanced herself to let us do her rears. She reared and kicked and struggled. Mind you she was VERY weak and very avoidable and rather sad. She has not been handled much at all so that on top of being separated from her dam and aunt was a bit much. But we did clean up her fronts with a lot of patience. She also had a LOT of edema from suface scalding of all of her diarrhea. Her hocks have shrunk since I bathed her but her pasterns are still edemitic/swollen.
She is a love and tried her little heart out for the farrier yesterday!!!! This time she stood like a trooper!!! Sandy said she was a "pro" and considering her old owner confessed to having a shoer come out "once a year" she was amazingly well behaved. She also has a crack in each hoof that is all the way to the coronet band on her feet so she is still in real risk. As long as she can grow hoof and stay sound we are okay.......thank you all for your support and please let me know if I can return the favor in any way!

MAJOR progress today ;D yesterday morning little miss Heidi was startled by me dragging the hose out to the paddock and she actually trotted a bit and it really made me smile....but..... Tonite the little wump was peeved that she was the last to be brought in for her dinner and she actually PLAYED!!!! Three whole laps of my round pen and she bucked and kicked her little hind end up even with the top bar!!! She was so cute and it really made my day. A far cry from the little girl who fell out of the trailer in front of my barn and was too weak to stand on 3 legs for a hoof trim! Our little girl is making some real progress! ;D
