Hello i just joined this group after hearing a commercial on the radio yesterday. I recently purchased a rescued horse from my boss at the stable i work at. He was brought in with ulcers all over him, no hair on his tail, disgusting hooves, and a bad shoulder. He was very afraid of people touching him especially his ears or head he was skinny and just a down right mess. I leased him for 6 months putting my time only into him helping him get back in better condition. After 6 months and my boss (who swore she would never sell him) my boss offered to sell him to me (everybody at the stable knows how much in love i was with the old boy) to which i was ecstactic about buying. She told me she saw the progress i had him with him. He and i are inseperable now he now brings his head down for me to brush, hug or pet, i can reach up and flop his ears around and he is an absolute dream to ride. He still has trust issues with other people but my boss said it would be a shame to not sell him to me as i am the only person he trusts and he obviously loves me very much. He is my first rescued horse and i am so glad i bought him. My 20 year old saddlebred gelding is now like a 9 year old dream he very regal and knows he looks good. I would not trade him for the world.
