Joy is 20, was a successful racehorse and has been a broodmare for several years. She's in good health and weight and has been regularly trimmed/vaccinated/wormed. Slight swayback. She's a complete sweetie and loves to be itched. Dark bay with a big blaze, and a big girl - 16hh. This mare would be a great babysitter or horse for someone to love on. She's a dream.
I am currently trying to place a few Thoroughbred mares in good homes (doing this on behalf of owners that need some bailing out) and thought I would post here. I will get some new pictures of her next week. In the meantime, please let me know if you might be interested! Located in western Washington.

Hops, thanks for helping out. Finding good homes for aged broodmares is difficult, but possible, especially if they are rideable. Pictures will help a lot!

Finally getting the coat where I want it - happy that today was warm enough for a much-needed bath. Now what do I have to do to cover over those ribs? Her butt looks good but still working on the middle. Hopefully the long grass will do it. I have a giraffe. Running with Frankie. Inhaling the grass as fast as she can! WHAT are you people DOING over there? (The neighbors were burning brush)

She's absolutely lovely. Are you planning on giving her a new job?

Well, she isn't sound enough to ride - she's not bad but has a big old ankle so she's NQR behind. (Probably not helped by her habit of kicking the barn wall when she's in heat.) She really, really, really wants to be bred and has made no secret about it. I told her maybe next year if she is a weight I am happy with by then. Her last two foals were gorgeous.

Aw, she looks wonderful! I will try to get a picture of her yearling sometime soon. She's in a funky stage right now, though.
Her 2YO is in training at EMD. Not sure who has him, but he's worked 2 or 3 times already.

It's funny, I am almost afraid to follow Joy's babies or any other mare I have...I would feel like I had to take them if they broke down, like they're family!
