I just want to write a personal THANK YOU to Slewgirl for this incredibly generous and fun event!
Myself, Jaybird and Pdevlieg from SAFE were able to attend and were incredibly grateful to be the center point of this fundraising effort. Slewgirl is part of a wonderful community out on the penninsula and obviously has wonderful friends who would happily donate to any cause she supported - many were not even horse people - but happily gave because of Slewgirl.
The food was amazing, the view of the harbor was stunning, I believe everything at the auction sold and the bidding was fun and lively!
I'll let Slewgirl post about how much funds were actually raised, but I think it was quite a bit and we are already thinking about how we can use those funds to help our current horses and hopefully some new rescues in the near future.
Thank you again, Slewgirl!!!

That is amazing! Looks like I'll have to do a painting for next year's. A horse this time. Anyone have a model (photos of) that they want to send to me? I need some inspiration. Great job Slewgirl, excellent work!

Ok, I'm a bit delayed in sharing the photos from the event, but here they are: Everyone gathering round, socializing and checking out the stuff: Bidding was getting exciting! Our auctioneer was the court jester (? actually, I don't know WHAT she was) in green: There was a large representation of pirates at one table. Here one of the pirates is giving a spiel for her "goods" (I think it was the granite tabletop): Here's Jaybird proudly displaying her win - a sitting with an equine photographer (Bonnie, have you had that done yet?):

I think we all look a bit rosy-cheeked. And, sorry about the half-closed eyes, Bonnie. I had two photos to choose from - this one and one where you looked good but Rosemary's eyes were closed. Since she did the fundraiser for us I didn't think I should punish her by putting up a bad photo, so you ended up with the short end of the stick, sorry!
