Dear Friends,
Congressmen Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) is pulling out all the stops in an attempt to derail HR 503 as he had previously done in the last Congress. However, we are assured that HR 503 will be considered.
Mr. Goodlatte is using every avenue he can find to try to amend the bill and/or delay the vote. Our sponsors are fighting back and assure us that we will not be denied the vote.
Nevertheless, we must launch an all out campaign to let Mr. Goodlatte, Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and Mr. Barton, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, know the American people demand passage of this bill immediately. We must call and fax their office's in DC until the phones, computers and staffers cannot take it anymore!
Effective Tuesday, July 18th, please begin calling, faxing and emailing both Congressmen Bob Goodlatte and Joe Barton. The contact information for both follows below.
Please be certain to remain polite at all times when contacting the Congressmens' offices. We are all frustrated at Mr. Goodlatte's continued obstruction of this important legislation, but we must remember to maintain our composure, as that is how we will best be able to help the horses.
When calling, it would be good for everyone to mention that while we fully understand that Mr. Goodlatte (or Barton) are against the bill, and that they indeed have every right to vote "NO", however, we too have the very same rights...that is for our Congressmen/Congresswomen to be afforded the right to vote "YES" or "NO" on this bill. Mr. Goodlatte is obstructing democratic due process. His anti democratic behavior will not be tolerated...we deserve a vote on this bill...it is our right as American citizens.
Thank you for your continued support of the horses!! We are closer now than ever before to passing this much needed legislation...PLEASE KEEP FIGHTING...PLEASE KEEP MAKING THOSE CALLS AND FAXES!!

Rep. Joe Barton Phone: 202-225-2002 Fax: 202-225-3052
PLEASE CROSSPOST THIS MESSAGE AT WILL!!!

Calling is very easy, I've done it dozens of times over the course of the year. It takes a couple of minutes and it really does have a positive effect.
