Another option is to use a daily de-wormer, in which you then only need to do the paste worming 2x per year, which my vet said isn't as much of a shock to the system. You can also get enrolled in Preventicare, which I really like, and it covers up to 5k in colic surgery if needed. It is free as long as you are on the Strongid daily de-wormer program. Your vet can sign you up.

I switched Whiskey to a daily wormer (Strongid C) and what a difference. He just looks healthier He is real sensitive to worms and will get diarrhea right before he is due for a worming but he has not had any since I put him on the daily wormer.

and do you know...that you can order a years supply of rotational worming for as little as $37. a YEAR per horse. I had my vet check the brands - he ok'd the brands -I hesiststed becuse I wonderd about the quality of product - I do the power pak on every one in Oct & April -that is about $50 per horse - we worm like clock work! Tazz my mare rolls the daily wormer right off her tounge..brat! So we paste everyone the same day, every 8 weeks!
