All, I have been to some of the lectures presented by HCW (Horses for Clean Water) and one of the presentations I went to was given by a local veterinarian in Preston (I'm sorry his name is escaping me at the moment) but he talked about studies that have been done on pasture grass and the higher incidence of laminitis/insulin resistance/Equine Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy, physitis, OCD, and tying up and metabolism issues in horses and it turns out they find that horses are being pastured on grasses meant to make cows gain weight at incredible speeds for quick slaughter.... ANYWAY - there is some extremely good information from this site that he recommended and there are CD's you can buy that explain it and what to do and the bottom line is - we need to push the grass seed companies to produce equine grass for us - not cow grass! Here is the site - please check it out: www.safergrass.org/
