She was lucky to have had someone who loved her and cared for her so well, and just as lucky to have had someone strong enough to make the right decision at the right time.
I am very sorry for your loss.

There are so many words to discribe Ginger but the best one that comes to mind for the relationship that you and Ginger had was love. She is in a better place now and running free with no restrictions with all the others that we have all lost. You did a wounderful job Tina and I was proud to have known Ginger these past few years. I have watched her transform in your care into a pround pasture momma. See you soon. XOXO

I'm so grateful for all the kind words during this time of my grief, and special thanks to SAFE for the beautiful flowers, and my neighbor Angelinmydreams for being there with Ginger and I at the end. On November 13,2005 when the skinny crippled old mare stepped out of Bonnies trailer, I fell in love instantly, she had that same effect on everyone who met her, even grumpy Tate loved her. During her time here she did blossom back to a beautiful big palomino mare who enchanted all who met her. I promised my girl she would never suffer a bad day again and would be the queen around here. As much as I did not want to, I had to remember that promise on Wednesday, her morning was not good, but her afternoon was wonderful, she was filled with treats and was being loved and scratched on up to the last moment, her lips were going like always when being touched by her people and the spark in those big amber eyes that was missing in the morning was back. I'm hearkbroken because the one thing I could not fix for Ginger was time, I could not make her young again, and those old worn legs could not hold her up anymore. She truely was a special old gal. Tina

Tina, I'm so sorry. I know how difficult it is to make that decision, and you did a kind and selfless thing. So glad she had you, and you, her.

I just read this - I'm so sorry to hear. You both had wonderful times together and you were so wonderful to her. She was a very lucky girl. On December 31st, I had to have my beloved 13-year old Australian Shepherd, Brenny euthanized. It was so hard, but I made the same promise to her (that she would never suffer) and I'm glad I was able to stick to the promise. I'm sure you will feel the same about Ginger.
