Star's owner has been rescuing horses out of auctions for some time, rehoming them, and going back for more. SAFE is assisting her with finding homes for four of her current rescues. Star came with another older quarterhorse cross gelding. I bought them both from a slaughter buyer after an auction was over. Their previous family had brought almost 15 horses there and they had to let these two go, but their little girl was DEVASTATED so I bought them for twice what the man paid. But oh well. Star is either a quarterhorse or an appendix. She does have a lip tattoo so you can get her information. Approx. 10-15 yrs and about 15.2h. Originally she had a HUGE tumor on her stomach but over the course of about 5 months we had it removed and she is fine now. The vet said it will not come back. She has no other health problems other then her front teeth are broken little stubs. She eats GREAT, it causes her no problems. The vet also said she could tell she has been bred MANY times. She ties and loads fine. She stands like an angel to be saddled and when you get on. NEVER bucked has a great canter! Her only problem is she is pushy on the ground. If she feels trapped she will push past you to get out. We are working on this everyday and she is getting better, she just needs a knowledgable owner. This pic was about 7 months ago and she looks even better now. Star is UTD on shots, farrier, worming, and teeth care. Located in Shelton, WA Adoption Fee: $600 Contact SAFE at adopt@safehorses.org for more information on Star.

Star's owner found a home for Star. She will live very close to her where she will be able to visit often.
