Cricket was purchased from the dealer by Calgal98. She got her thru a tough pregnancy and delivery. They were able to save Cricket but she delivered a full term angel filly. She is approx 25 yrs old, an old ranch horse that was probably used on cows and everything else. She really knows her stuff. Is tough as nails and will probably out live me ;D. We got her from Calgal for my 8 yr old daughter, Rhemi. Cricket is crabby and as Rhemi has become a better rider in this short time, she is putting Rhemi through the challenges that kids horses do to teach them excellent riding skills. Cricket's Dealer lot pic: Our trip home with Cricket should have taken 2.5 hours, but our truck broke down, then our friends car broke down trying to haul us back to Fresno, 3rd try was a charm. Here was our 2nd break down. This is my daughter and Cricket in a field next to the highway. At home taken last month: Rhemi now loping: and of course 2 of our dogs. Steele the Giant Schnauzer and Krissy the Shepard/Chow X. Lillie the Chi is safely in the house sleeping.

I'm so glad to see Cricket is doing well. She had a rough go of it for a while, but now she's got her own little girl. How perfect! I just love happy endings.

All I can say is WOW WOW and WOW. I remember her at the lot...I felt so bad for her. She was so skinny. She looks 10 years younger now! Her and your daughter are quite a pair!!

I love old bat mares and kids together. What more could you want? She looks great and is teaching a new generation how to ride. A very happy ending!

I love the tough old bat. I had a ball giving her neck scritches when I visited CalGal!

I forgot this thread was here. I happened to visit Ms. Cricket a few weeks ago and as you can see, this is one CBER horse that got a very happy ending. She is not only in her forever home, but also living in a super nice show facility full of expensive warmbloods that tower over her. It's too funny. She is a princess who is getting the best of everything and is very much loved by her young owner. Not so bad for an old ranch horse!
