Just a quick update for those of you waiting for one.... Lexi is cleaning up in the first place department.
Annie and Allison looking spectacular - I could not be more proud of Annie - she is truly a success story.
The other SAFE horses are placing as well - I will let others post exactly what they earned and give bragging rights.
Everyone having a good time - weather a little breezy and wet - but most horses and riders handling it very well.
A very nice horse show - good job to everyone involved!

Well, I would like to give a special mention of a mare that was an NWESC rescue (Northwest Equine Stewardship Center ) who is now in the care of Cowgirl Spirit for training. Piper. If there are any dressage enthusiasts out there...you must see this horse. She F L O A T S. I don't know if maybe she was greenbroke before becoming a baby factory but I don't think she has a ton of miles on her but you would never know it. She is absolutely a stand out and as docile a personality as you will find. I would take this girl in a heartbeat (and if I ever can afford to - I WILL because she could totally be Redmond's girlfriend). So, with all that - here is her link - someone is going to be very very lucky. She can be seen here and on the rescues page www.csrdt.org/

I went to the SAFE show today as a spectator--it's been many years since I went to a show. Let me tell you, unless you've been to horse shows before, you can get really confused! We didn't know where to watch (or what exactly to watch), didn't know what horses we could approach, didn't know at first which ones were up for adoption. Is there a booth for visitors to go to? Where do you pick up things like a class list? Thank goodness we were there when they had the parade of adoptable horses. There were so many horses, but only the SAFE ones and the Cowgirl Spirit ones (and maybe one other rescue) that had "adopt me" ribbons. I take it that most of the horses there were already adopted?
I wish I had prepared more before hand, and read the threads in the show forum so I knew better what was going on. I realize that horse shows aren't really set up for the general public, for people who just show up as spectators.
It was pretty exciting, though, to take a look at the horses in person who's lives I've been following on here!

She was polite on the ground, but was definitely green. She is a super sweet girl, although at the time was VERY herd-bound to my MILs older QH gelding. I am so happy to see that she has made leaps and bounds in the progress category!

Well Daisy and I had a lot of fun at the show and she took a bunch of photos that we'll be sorting through very soon. I definitely learned a few things about how much food to bring for the volunteers and Daisy got to run in the rain. I LOVED watching the gaming and unfortunately missed most of the trails. And how about that little Paso Fino there? So cute! We had to leave a little bit before the end so I hope people grabbed up the last remnants like the muffins and cases of water. With any luck perhaps we'll be part of the show too next year.

Soooo much fun yesterday. You guys did such a fantastic job putting this all together.
I am soooo proud of my horse. this was our first time away from home, first ride in the trailer. I made a bunch of mistakes (the most severe being the saddle falling off....oy) but she didn't put a foot wrong the WHOLE day when she had every right to. We missed a couple of classes due to my screwups but had SO MUCH FUN.
I had the little dark blaze-faced 3YO TB filly who went first in Bribe Your Horse, and was led by the elderly lady in the leadline class. And we also had the big bay TB mare who placed 2nd in one of the halter classes - she went straight from that class back onto the trailer and back to Emerald Downs to get back to being a racehorse.
Thank you all so, so much for putting this on. YOU ARE AWESOME. We will be back for sure next year.
Also - someone please post a link when the show photos are available to view. We didn't get any personal photos of us showing and I'd love to buy some. Nice, nice lady taking pictures!
