My schedule has successfully been moved around. Barring any major issues (they've been known to happen!) I will be in Kent by 4 and plan on heading to Donida right after I get checked into hotel and kids and hubby settled. What time will everyone be there until Friday evening?

Hey Jet. Just a side note, trails ribbons usually get announced right before high points get announced. I am guessing dressage will probably be the same. Do we usually give gaming ribbons?

Jet, We'll need to have someone available on Friday to direct people with trailers as they arrive so they know where to unload, where to park, etc.

I do still have offers coming in from folks who I've directed to just check in when they get there. These are folks who say they can give a few hours here or there and will be completely flexible regarding duties I expect to be available from 10:30 - 12:30ish, myself. Jet, We'll need to have someone available on Friday to direct people with trailers as they arrive so they know where to unload, where to park, etc. We don't a specific person at this point but I was thinking that it wouldn't exactly be a steady flow of trailers and I could do it as needed on Friday. We might have extra helpers on Friday, but to my knowledge, it will be Bonnie Lynn M Lisa Erin Me Hey Jet. Just a side note, trails ribbons usually get announced right before high points get announced. I am guessing dressage will probably be the same. Do we usually give gaming ribbons? I don't think we discussed how we we going to distribute ribbons for Dressage, Trails and I assumed we did award ribbons in gaming but having never done it before, I don't know. I know at the Dressage shows I've been to, the had the awards at the office or at a prize tent where folks checked in to see their scores and gather their goodies.

After each Dressage test is done the scores are tallied at the office. Once all riders for that test (Intro A, B Training 1, 2, etc.) are done, placings are ready shortly after. The ribbons are distributed at the office without any announcements, like they would be for a flat class.
ETA: Who is announcing? Whoever it is, it would be great if they could periodically announce the time so riders know what time it is.

We may still announce the winners of the dressage classes during a break. But yes, riders will come to the show office to pick up their tests and ribbons once the classes are complete and scored.

Jaime- it's my plan to bathe dexter at Donida. I'm not to worried about bathing him but would appreciate a mane consultation. I was hoping to tackle that yesterday but didn't end up making it out to put another ride on him. Do you have any quicksilver for his tail? If not, I'll pick some up.

Yes, I will be at the location about 2:30pm (bringing Constance with her horse Heidi) after which I think I only have one or two vendors coming. The rest are coming Saturday at 6:30-7:30am. I will be able to help in any capacity I can. If you need me to come earlier, I can contact Constance and see if we can do that. It sounds like she may be able to transport as early as 1pm
As for gaming ribbons...if you have enough, yes, ribbons should be given for the winners. In the gaming world, it's usually a cash prize but we're not doing that here.

people are so nice.... I went to pick up a dry erase board I found on CL tonite and happened to be wearing my old lavender SAFE shirt. He asked if I had something to do with horses (bwahahah...YES!) and so I told him I was actually going to use the board for my volunteer assignments...and he gave it to me! He had wanted $20 for it, but he said it felt good to know it was going to help something worthwhile He also gave me a really nice set of pens, spray & eraser too!...AND he loaded it in my truck as well AND...he wants to come and take photos when he found out that some folks were going to be dressed up....specifically he said "what's that thing they do with horses where they get dressed up in a black coat, all fancy?" So I said "Dressage?"...YES! he wants to photo fancy people....so I told him it's a fun show but I bet there will be SOME fancy-ness going on...then he got all excited about Western people and their fancy clothes too! ;D How awesome!! btw...the board ended up being 4x6'....BIG!!!
