Are you keeping in touch with her LilDun? I hope her teeth situation gets resolved soon. Here is a photo of Ginger aka Hot Lips' new home:

I'm worried too, Pam. I don't think any of us have heard anything yet.

what's been wrong with Hotlips? She hasn't been drinking, and today she wouldn't eat.

I gave Tina (Hottie/Ginger's) adoptor a call after seeing the thread over on CBER. She was very kind and gracious and made it clear that she was not casting blame on anyone.
Ginger does indeed have a dime-sized hole in her two front teeth (which you can see head on, on the front of the teeth, not on the underside/biting side). No one knows how this could have happened but the vet said it did not happen from a horse, but from a human - somehow.
In any case that is not the cause of her problem now, she stopped eating because she has an extensive infection in her mouth under her back molars. It has gone systemic now and that is why she stopped eating, but has been going on for at least 6 months according to the vet. This also explains the water sensitivity. The infection going systemic is the cause for the sudden refusal to eat - she has been eating well to this point. She's on antibiotics now and will be re-evaluated on Monday, she may need to have the teeth pulled but every effort to save the teeth will be made. The vet thought she is only about 20 or 21 years old.
She did say that her vet could not believe her teeth were done in August - that there is no way any professional would have missed the infection there. Yet we did pay to have the Yakima vet do it, and I have the receipt to prove it, so I don't know what to think about that.
SAFE has decided we will contribute some funds to help with her vet care, because it is the right thing to do.

Oh gosh! Poor Ginger! I am glad she is being taken care of so well and that SAFE can assist as well.
I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly and that Ginger is on the road to feeling better!
Thanks for the update Jaime.

Hello Friends: I just found out about this website, life has been hectic with Hottie(gingers) illness. I've been posting updates on the cber bb, but, I was confused with the changes. Ginger may be on the road to recovery, she ate yesterday, small amts of local hay, her choice not mine, she did not want the alf/grass or grain, or chop, mash. Today she turned her nose up to the local and ate the alf, and chop. I was so happy. She accepts the oral flushing and meds. She loves her new friend Tate. Who, by the way is in the pic in the run in stall, they share. Tate was also a slaughter bound broodmare I adopted 3 yrs ago from a rescue in Stanwood. Tate was on the road to slaughter and thank God was saved. I know I've only had Ginger 3 weeks but, she is a very special lady. At this time, I appreciate the offers, but, her medical treatment is covered by Neil and I.
