Hello everyone!
I had an idea about how we can make some money for safe, and maybe find some potential adopters for the horses! I need community service hours for school, and I was thinking about what I could do to benefit the community. And I was thinking, maybe I could plan out a fundraiser to help out SAFE? I have a few ideas of how I could do it, but before I start trying to raise money for SAFE, I thought I would ask you guys first, and If I get permission I can try to get permission through my school.
I was thinking maybe just hanging posters and seeing if I could get people to donate, or maybe I could figure out something else, like setting up a stand somewhere, but I want to try to help, and if anyone wants to try to get involved as well ,that would be cool, or if anyone has any ideas on how to fundraise better?
Thanks!

Shayla, I'm happy to give you any kind of support you need & I'm excited to see what you come up with.
Some other ideas that have been done/suggested in the past to help raise funds for SAFE are: Bake Sales...Dances...Parties w/an admission price perhaps a tad more affordable to the High School student budget... The holidays are coming you could maybe set up a gift wrapping service...set up a crew of your friends to shovel driveways if it snows...there are all kinds of things you can do. You could even make it a school year long project to do several little fund raisers to see how much you can do total. You might be able to get support from your fellow Equestrian Tream members!?!?
I'm sure we can share photos and information that you can use to promote your project whatever it might end up being. Keep us up to date on what your working on and I/we'll help you as much as we can, I'm sure!
a note to the rest of the message board readers: FOLKS....THIS is the future of our sport/hobby/lifestyle at work!! I've also been contacted by other teens who want to do projects and/or help fundraise...I think we should be very proud of these young folks!! ;D

Okay, so, as read above, I had an idea on how to help safe. I've talked to a few people, and came up with an idea, but it would take a little outside support. I thought setting up a playday at frontier park, since thats local to where I am, would be a fun idea. Just a few fun events, like some gaming events and such, because a lot of people in my area game. But we could have walk/jog gaming events too, and anybody can do that! I think maybe getting some local places, like maybe Amichi's, since Kim owns that? And I know many of the local owners of the tack stores, and we could advertize it. It would be a small playday, and would take some planning and such, but I do not think it would cost too much. We would have to get ribbons or something for the people who place, but I do not think it would be too costly. I am thinking frontier park, but I will check into some other venues. I am going to try to get my equestrian team involved as well.
But firstly, what do all you guys think?

Well I was thinking about possibly holding it sometime in March, because I would like to be active in the planning and setting up of the show, and March is my least busy month. This would give us PLENTY of time to plan for it. I can talk to the people at Graham Hay Market, Pro Horse, and maybe King Feed about the grooming supplies. King Feed esspecialy is a supporter for my equestrian team, so they would probably like to help. And as for planning a committee, it might be cool to get some people together to plan it. I will continue with the planning and see what my parents think, and I think we could really get this going We Could do the show sometime this winter, but then we would not have much planning and advertizing time. Also, I start my show season next month, and we go until april, but I have no shows in the month of march. And also, thats getting to be spring time and when more people want to get out and go riding after a winter of not being able to do much riding!

I would love to come to something like that, and I think it would be very popular. Wait for the good weather, otherwise you risk having your turnout ruined by cold/ice.
