Guess I need to chat w/Jaime...I could pull the adoption day and do a work party but I wonder if we could kinda do both? We still might have folks dropping by because of the advertising we've already done. Perhaps we could have a booth, some hot dogs & assign someone to answer questions about adoption and take folks out to meet horses over the fence and offer to "show them" off...tack up if needed, put one of our riders onboard....I heard Allison was up for that, possibly!?
Then we could still do a full adoption day open-barn to show of all we've done!?
Anyway, stand by....we'll get it together here pretty quick!

I'm amazed at how far you guys got on the paddocks after I left. Strong work? I am going out of town these next two weekends, but will be home Oct. 10, so if you do the spa and adoption events on Sunday the 11th or the following w/e I can help out. I loved meeting the horses at SAFE- finally, in person!

Craig and I are planning on coming up this Saturday. We can bring tools/rakes if necessary, or can groom horses, whatever is the priority. What time should we be there?

We will start at 10am again. I'd bring a hammer and a drill if you have one as mostly what is left is fence work. Thanks!

I'm soooooo happy to announce that we have completed the shelter/paddock project!!! YAY!!!!!
THANK YOU to the many many volunteers who came out each weekend...for 4...yes FOUR weeks to help get the wood fence paddock built, gravel spread and the new shelters put up.
I don't have a number figured out yet but I estimate that we had 50-60 sets of hands out there over the last month to get them finished and they are really beautiful. (some of those were the same pair of hands over and over each weekend!!)
SAFE has some of the best volunteers ever! I'm sooooooooo PROUD of YOU and all you do to help SAFE Horses!!! ;D
...and to Jaime & Mike....enjoy some peace and quiet for awhile...and THANK YOU two for all you do EVERY DAY ... we could not do this great work without your generosity !!

That's great! My husband (who is a carpenter) pointed out this was thousands of dollars of donated labor - I echo Jet's thank you to one and all.
