Boy do we opportunities GALORE!!!
I normally reserve my volunteer updates for those who've contacted me via email but this one is worth posting on here too as I know we have several folks who have not signed up to help but do read our message board frequently...here's some ways you can help without making a weekly commitment...
Week-day Chore Back Ups
We are in dire need of folks we can call on in a pinch to help out at Jaime's when our regularly scheduled chore volunteer can't come in due to unforeseen urgent schedule conflicts...as happened twice in the last week! I've sent out notes to the trained group but it apparently didn't give us enough time to fill those spots. It would be more efficient if I knew which of you could be flexible enough to call the day before (and sometimes even the day-of) a vacancy.
Please email me at: volunteer@safehorses.org with the subject BACK UP if you're interested. Please include your name, phone number and days you would most likely be able to help if the need came up.
NOTE: as always, we all understand this is a volunteer situation and I want you all to feel that if I call you, it's ok to decline but please don't let that be a reason to stay off the list if there's even a possibility that you could help at some point. This list does not mean that you HAVE to come in if I call...I will always call to ask if you are available. This is just so that I know who I might be able to count on should things get to an urgent need status.
Next we have
EVENTS
Please take a look at the following events and let me know which you can help with. The more hands we get in the faster we can get things done!

WASHINGTON STATE HORSE PARK
Horse Fest ~ SAFE Booth w/NWESC
Saturday - September 26th
11am - 4pm
Horse Park Site - Cle Elum, WA
A Pop-Up Tent and the SAFE Promo kit should provide all the materials you need to set up a decent table/booth at the Horse Fest event that will take place along side the Washington State Horse Park Site Dedication. The WSHP project has been several years in the making and when completed will be the premier equine event facility in the state. We have been invited to participate in this event and along with the Northwest Equine Stewardship Center folks, we should make a respectable presence! We have one volunteer who can come out from 11-1 but it would be great to be able to cover the event all day with at least two folks so please let me know if you can come and help out for even part of the day. You'll also get a peek at the site for the new facility and get to see all the plans for this amazing facility.
Please email me at: volunteer@safehorses.org with the subject WSHP if you're interested. Please include your name, phone number
ADOPTION / OPEN - BARN (Spa Day for horses)
Saturday - October 3rd
10am - ?
SAFE ~ Monroe
27706 Old Owen Road
Monroe WA 98272
We'll be working on getting the horses ready to meet the public the following day. Teams of two folks to do several horses would be most appreciated. I'd say each two-person team should be able to clean 2-3 horses each in that time frame, right?
Please email me at: volunteer@safehorses.org with the subject SPA DAY if you're interested. Please include your name, phone number

We also need help with:
* SAFE Info Booth

We'd like to meet as many of you as possible so please try to come out to support this event!

If you have previously responded to any of the above events you do not need to respond again.
There's a lot to do .... and more to come when we get past these events. The horses need help every day and any part you play, no matter how small you think it is, is HUGE!!! SAFE and I appreciate any support you can give.
THANK YOU!!!!!
