I am looking for a horse trainer in my area who is firm, gentle and will handle training from the ground up. I have 2 rescue horses who were mainly just starved and are now in good condition. They need halter breaking, stand for farrier and basic training. I wouls start it myself but I am going in for back surgery in two weeks. I have any older mare with minor arthriis who is needs a farrier understanding of her joint problems. Looking for someone in my area who either comes her or boards them. My husband and I are on fixed retired incomes so need someone reasonable or with payments. I can be reached at 425-512-7236 or 425-330-1727

Is there a better place to post this request or someone I can call for general information. I have only lived in this area for two years this month. I am not asking for free training or anything like that. I just do not want to end up in a bad situation as some others have experienceed in other states. Please help. The onye three year old would make a nice junior show pony but I want to get here started right before offering her on a gift contract to a young shower who may have the experience but not money to lay out on the purchase of a nice horse.

Snookers, quite possibly no one on this board lives near Omak and so can't recommend a trainer. Maybe someone at your feedstore might have some ideas? I don't think there's anyone near Omak, but there's also www.flyingchanges.com MTA: Be SURE to ask around re: reputation once you do find a name. Also be sure to monitor/visit while training goes on, though it sounds like you already know that.
