Yeah! What a great ending to a bad situation. I'm so glad you were able to get him out of there!

I hope we'll continue to get updates. What a big improvement! Thanks for helping him.

Thought it was time that everyone knows that I am the one who adopted Babe (Dragon). I have learned so much having him - it has been a journey for both of us. I re-named him because he needs a new name for his new life. Also, I am into Chinese mythology and two of the central characters are the Phoenix and the Dragon.. since I already have a Phoenix, I needed a Dragon I have had quite a few challenges getting some meat on his bones - but am making progress. I moved him and Phoenix to the Red Barn in Renton at the end of August and he is doing amazing there. I have got him up to date on everything for the vet - shots, teeth float, ulcer treatment, feet - and he has had a couple of chiro treatments from Dr. Hannah which helped him a lot. I also found that the Cool Calories supplement seems most effective in helping him to gain weight - he has done amazing on it, and coupled with good pasture and some alfalfa mix in his hay has gained a lot of weight in a short period of time. When he left Monroe, Dr. Hannah put his body score at between 3 and 3.5 - after just three weeks at Red Barn he is now a 4. I am so glad - need to get him some fat before winter. There is a trainer at Red Barn and she has started working him under saddle - he is still a little too thin for riding. He had 20 days of ground work with Julie Boulter in Monroe. He is no longer reactive at all, everyone says he is really smart, and he thinks the saddle is no big deal. I have been taking riding lessons for a few months now - a veteran "re-rider" they call me I plan on doing some hunter hack with him and trail riding. I have attached a couple of photos - one is of him under saddle with the trainer and the second is his chiro treatment about a week ago with Dr. Hannah's new vet partner - Dr. Kelli.
