Hey all, we were just given the opportunity to participate in Celebrate the Horse, an awesome Horse-Centric weekend held at the Puyallup Fair grounds next weekend. In order to participate we would need volunteers to be on-hand to answer questions about SAFE and promote our rescue efforts. Basically it would be sitting at a table that Evergreen Holistic Veterinary Care will have and has graciously invited us to share with them. According to the web site the event will run Saturday June 27th from 10am - 7pm Sunday June 28th from 10am - 5pm I figure we'd need commitments from at least 3 people for Saturday and 2 more for Sunday for 3-3.5 hour shifts. Ideally we'd double that and have two SAFE folks on hand all the time. I worked it for a few hours last year and there were a few times that we had quite a lot of folks at the table at one time, certainly enough for two or more people to be busy chatting with interested visitors. Please let me know asap if you can help us out so that we can make a commitment to this event. Last year we made some great contacts and met at least one new awesome Volunteer, LynnM If you're already planning to attend the event, it would be great if you could plan an extra few hours to help out SAFE...if you would like to help out SAFE then I'd say the opportunity to stay later or come earlier and check out Celebrate the Horse is a great bonus!! Yay ;D I'm so glad. I was hoping that we'd be there again. Yes, count me in for a shift. I already have a ticket for Saturday. I was planning on being there all day anyway.
Sunday I will be at the farm (it's my weekend).

We've got 3 volunteers for Saturday but still need at least 2 for Sunday the 28th.
Again, it would be great if we could double up and get 3 more for Saturday and 4 for Sunday.

OK, here's a schedule for Celebrate the Horse...
SATURDAY - June 27th
10:00am - 1:00pm ~ Margaret 1:00pm - 4:00pm ~ Lynn 4:00pm - 7:00pm ~ Kristi & Friend Anita to double cover as available
SUNDAY - June 28th 10:00am - 1:30pm ~ Lynn 1:30pm - 5:00pm ~ STILL NEED
I will update this as we fill in the rest...we could still use a second person on all shifts if possible ;D
Margaret will be bringing the promotional booth stuff to set up on Saturday and the person who closes it on Sunday with the 1:30 - 5:00 shift will need to pack it up and ideally return it to Jaime in Monroe or to me in Fife/Federal Way. I will be over in the Wenatche area that weekend but have to be back in town by 7pm for customers in Fife (close to Puyallup) so I could meet whomever is going to take that last shift if it's convenient for them...
Thanks to everyone for checking your calendars to see if you can work this in for SAFE & the horses! This year we've got LOTS of horses that we can promote as ADOPTABLE!!!

a slight change in the Celebrate line up... We still need a person for the last shifts on both Saturday & Sunday....These are great shifts since you can get there early in the day, check out all the displays and then spend the last few hours out of the sun/heat talking about rescue

We have a 4 seat ticket package to the Tacoma Rainiers to raffle off at this event. Big thanks to Maeve who contacted the Rainiers to ask for a donation.

We still have one shift left to cover on Sunday from 1:30-5:00pm This is a pretty crucial one! If we can't get it covered I'm going to suggest that LYnn takes the Promo Kit and sign with her when she leaves & I'll work it out with her to pick it up in the next week or so.... Sunday??? takers???
