Fingers and hooves are crossed for Hopes successfull adoption by all of us at Kea's Crest! She is a beauty in those pictures. How great it is that her training has come along so well. : )

Hope's adoption was not approved and she is still available. She is doing fabulously under saddle walk/trot/canter and is very uncomplicated to ride. Our current plan is to leave her in training until the middle of May, and then she will come back to Monroe. Rhythm will be going into training in her place, and Jasmine will stay through May mostly likely (although she is also doing very well - but her canter still needs work).

Hope is a super star!! I watched Andrea work with her today (and got some great video I will upload later) and she did so great! She was very obedient, sweet, willing...just a very good girl. She does walk/trot/canter, leg yields, and she does canter figure eights with a change of lead through the trot. She's really a good girl and everyone loves her up at Half Trak Farm.
One thing I had not noticed before with Hope but was totally obvious today - Hope is gaited. What kind of gaited I couldn't tell you, but she has a few of her own made-up gaits that are "unique" to say the least. When she gets nervous, or isn't forward enough, she trots in front and walks in behind. She has a true canter, but also has another in-between gait in which she canters in front and trots behind. The "tranter" gait is pretty comfortable, but the "twalk" gait not so much. But whatever she is doing, she is really cute doing it!

I guess you are right...add a little animation on her front end and that is what she would be doing! In a dressage saddle, without the "gait enhancers" the Saddlebred people use, it still looks more like a twalk to me.

Oh jaime, she looks a-maz-ing! I think these gorgeous pictures deserve a spot on the home page. Plus- what a generous thing Andrea is doing by giving these horses 90 days of solid, professional, training that will allow them to excell in whatever direction their person decides to take them. ;D

Hope is such a clown! She loves attention and people and really seems to enjoy her new job as a riding horse. She carries herself really well and you can see in the photos and video that she is forward and soft.
Our horses are so lucky to have Andrea work with them, she just has that ability to adapt to each horses unique way of going and brings out the best in them!

Hope is officially pending adoption!
She has been such a good girl since she came here. One of our new volunteers rode her on Saturday (first time since she came back from training due to a lost shoe). She was so good! She is totally tuned into you and tries so hard to please! You would never have guessed this mare had only been under saddle a couple of months. Cross your fingers for a smooth vet check and adoption process!
