I just wanted to introduce myself as a new person to this list serve and an interested volunteer. I am a former horse owner. I had my horse through my teens and into my 30's. She was 31 when she was put down December 3, 2001. I am beginning to look into service in the name of horses and came across this organization. Wow, what great work and heart you all have. I am so glad you exist. I look forward to hearing what is available as far as volunteering. Of course, my preference is working with horses, cleaning stalls, grooming, walking, etc. I live in Ballard and have no "pasture" or else I might consider adoption. I also have communications/ PR/ fundraising experience. Let me know if there is something I can be part of. Thanks for all your do in the name of saving horses. Have a good weekend! Susan

Hi Susan, welcome to the board! Have you filled out a volunteer questionnaire yet? You can find it on our main website - www.safehorses.org. Once you have done that our volunteer coordinator will be contacting you to discuss your availability and where we might best utilize your talents. Thanks for joining!

Susan, I'm in Seattle too and so is Emily and some other volunteers as well. So once you get all signed up and in touch with Jet (Coconut on the board) there's undoubtedly some collaborative work that can be done in town as well. I think Emily is working on a newsletter.
My horse (Willy) lives at Edensgate Farm in Monroe, where some of the SAFE horses are fostered or in training, as well as two SAFE-adopted horses, so we'll surely meet at some point!

Thanks Monica and others for saying hello.
I will fill out the volunteer form and get connected with all of you.
Glad to know some others live in the urban jungle.
Happy Thanksgiving in whatever you choose to do!
Susan
