What is the correct way to change a horse feed routine from alfalfa hay to grass hay? Thanks!

It is similar to switching dog or cat food......more of the previous feed and less of the new, gradually adding more new and less of the previous for at least a week until you are using only the new feed. I always add a gut conditioner such as Probios or YeaSacc to make sure it goes well.

Wow....you are filled with so much knowledge. Thank YOU! Mr. Stetson has a lot going on this month....we just bought him, moved him closer to us to a stables in Auburn....found out it isn't the kinda of place we want to be ...now we will look at another stables on Lake Tapps tomorrow....just would like to settle in with nice people NOT snooty! Lord forbid keeping up with Jones is not in my schedule!  |
