So, normally I love Cowboy Magic products. But, I hate Krudbuster. I thought Lady had possibly re-injured a splint on her hind leg last week, but it turns out that it was the Krudbuster I was using on her back legs that was causing the extreme swelling, heat, and sensitivity!! (She has what looks like rain-rot on her hind cannon bones, the fur just falls out more and the skin is very dry, but only in the summer)
I had been using the Krudbuster for about 3 days, and everything seemed fine. Get to the barn the next day, and Lady's left hind was completely swollen from hock down and HOT. Right hind seemed fine, a little stocked up. I cold hosed, and gave her some bute. I decided to not apply Krudbuster until her leg got better. I cold hosed, 2x/day and buted her for a few days, and the swelling went right down. Logically, I figured she had bumped the old splint, it was real sore for a day, and then settled down pretty fast.
So I re-applied the Krudbuster when all the swelling was gone and her leg was back to normal.
Stupid me, because not 5 hours later when I came back to feed dinner, BOTH of her hind legs were COMPLETELY swollen, burning hot, and sensitive to the touch!!!!! I cold hosed the poor girl, gave her more bute, and said sorry mom is an idiot The next day the swelling was down a bit, and I have been cold hosing her 2x per day to make the skin feel a bit better and get the rest of the swelling out.
Lady is not the type of TB that has wierd skin infections, and is super sensitive. She is a sensitive soul, but the only thing that has bothered her skin in the past 8 years was the spot-on fly treatment: that gave her welts.
So, beware!!! Krudbuster is tough stuff, and really hurt my girl I followed all the directions on the bottle, so... whatever that active ingredient is, it will never touch Lady again!
