GOOD news and so-so news: I spoke to Sydney with LWSC and she is willing to do the following with us. She will allow us to sell our goods and she will pull hers so that we benefit from our sales. ;D However, we will need a volunteer to man (or woman, whatever the case may be) the concession stand with her in order to keep our stuff separate from theirs. It is VERY IMPORTANT that all pop be put in the fridge at least overnight before the show. There is NO room in the refrigerator at the concession stand for our pop and water. WE will NEED ICE CHESTS in order to keep the refreshments fresh. We will need a separate till and about $100 in change. Small bills and quarters. We do not need to get our own food permit - yeah. So with that, we have pop, water, chips and snacks to sell with all the profits going back to SAFE. LWSC will sell hot dogs, ice cream bars, pizza and other items. She said that fruit was too expensive to make any profit on so that will be in limited supply. She did say that she had veggie burgers and on the menu they offered cheese pizza for our non carnivorous friends. The so-so news is the extra vendors that are wanting to sell their goods. So would Lynnm and Lyn51 please PM me so I can give you the phone # to call Sydney to discuss whether or not you can participate. The Health Dept has its idiosyncrasies with dealing with dairy items and processed foods (Lynn, you and discussed this with the apples). So this is a baby step for SAFE in the realm of concessions ;D The next concern that came up was what time to open the concession stand. I told Sydney that we were starting at 8 and she said she would be there at 7:15, however, someone needs to contact PR Mary to let her know so that gates can be opened to the parking lot OK...I PM'd you Also, I can get ice chests. I've also heard that McDonald's will provide ice to non-profits if you come with your containers. Best to go to a lot of different stores so that you don't clean out any one location. I can do that with my ice chests ( think I have 3 fairly good sized ones). One more thing...my guys have run concessions for theaters and are very knowledgeable and willing to help out in any way they can. If you like, I can put them in direct touch with you.

I was going to go for muffins and doughnuts and some OJ and apple juice. If you could pick up a gallon of OJ and apple juice, I'll take care of the doughnuts and muffins. Deal? I'll also bring my cooler to set up with breakfast stuff around trails. We can keep juice and some sodas and water in there for volunteers and that keeps it all separate from whatever you guys are doing with concessions.

I picked up 4 cases of Tim's Cascade Chips today!!! regular. Maui, Sea Salt & Jalapeno They also gave me a banner to hang up, if we want. They would like to have it back after the show, however. Do we have a plan about when to get all this stuff to the show grounds? My husband is planning on bringing the truck and all the soda, waters, chips, snacks, etc....I assume you want it brought in that day? Wowsers....it's getting close!

Hmm, I was assuming that people bringing stuff would get there in the morning, however, I see your point.
Would those of you brining items please PM me and let me know when you are planning on getting there and where you live.
I may have to go pick stuff up to make sure we have items available at all times.
The LWSC will have a breakfast items for the masses and SAFE is providing some items for the volunteers. Since I am not a pop drinker I don't know how early people need their fix.

I will be coming up in the morning to bring the log for the trail course. We will be coming from Maple Valley. Is there outstanding items needed for concessions?

I will be bringing breakfast stuff for volunteers and my cooler. I don't know how Bridle Trails is set up. Do I need to try to find a pop up tent to sit under also?

IF you want to donate pop/water or snacks, all proceeds will go to SAFE. The more concessions of that nature, the more to SAFE. I just bought a case of full size candy M&M products for $15.00 (turns out each bar is around .35 cents) that we will be selling for $1.00 each. Ka-ching!!! Lake Wa Saddle Club will be selling breakfast foods, vegitarian foods and hot dogs and will not compete with SAFE sales.

Food items for the volunteers will be in the "Tower" where the announcer and registration is at. This way volunteers can come and go and help themselves to items.

REMINDER: REMINDER: REMINDER: REMINDER: [glow=red,2,300]REMINDER:[/glow]
For those of you bringing pop/water. Please if possible refrigerate it the night before. I know some of you are bringing cases and this isn't possible, but for those of you who can, please do.
Coolers and ice are imperative for us to have. There is a COSTCO in Kirkland (next exit or two up) that we can do a run if needed.
There will be a separate area for volunteers to feast and help themselves, so if you would like to bring baked goods, fruit or anything special, please do so. It will be out of sight from the public.
*Jet you are bringing a cash box - **Jaybird is brining cash for change - ***Anyone who is able to correctly make change is more than welcome to volunteer for concessions, the more volunteers the less time one person has to stay there ;D
72 Hours left - oh boy! ;D

I am a volunteer at Jamie's, and have Fresh Girls Refreshments vending. WE do lemonades, and ice cream floats, we will need to apply for a health permit to serve at the show, but would donate half of our profits back to SAFE. If this is not an option, I can volunteer in some other capacity at the show.
Thanks Lyn 206-361-8408
