Its going to be fun. Please, nobody worry. Very controlled, everybody comfortable before speeding up and if they are not we wont. Period. I'm really looking forward to getting some good pictures of these guys out on the trail.

I hope you guys have a great time. It sounds like tons of fun! You all are going to do a-okay fine! I think trail riding is fun, but I have the attention span of a buffalo-gnat... Arenas with stuff to jump is a better place for me!

We will have a good time for sure. Just taking it easy.
And, Hollynanne, I'm sure I could take you on some rides that would hold your attention. Just let me know when you want to go and bring a change of pants... :-)

I love trail riding on nice, calm, point-and-go horses. I am sooooo thankful Kathleen is taking Annie and I get to ride Fancy! Given Annie and Dex's trail experience, who know's what we are in for

We all survived the ride without causalities!
I think Kathleen needs to adopt herself a chestnut saddlebred. They looked great doing their tall and lean thing.
Thank you all for joining me, still am shocked at the main parking being full!

I had a great time today and am SO glad we went. Annie is a very pretty girl and she was very brave for her first trail ride. Dexter was GREAT as well! We were able to get a group photo after. :-) Allison giving a half asleep Fancy some love.

Someone needs to do a "caption this" of the horses in the first photo. I don't think their expressions could have been any more different... funny

Dexter looks like he was born to trail ride and it's great to hear Annie had a successful ride today. Keeping the group small was a good idea. How are the trails at the Redmond Watershed? "Eek, there were boogie puddles" per my stallion. But otherwise very clear, as always. We ended up riding from the Kathryn Taylor Park to Tuscany so just a tiny but of time in the watershed. Parking was COMPLETELY full when I pulled in there, and some moron was blocking the exit... I got to practice backing. But the other park was great. Lots of parking and the arena there was just groomed. It was perfect

Allison, that's a the classic "trail-riding fool" grin if I ever saw one. Could be the end of the "arena princess" era...
Khramer looks awfully handsome there.

I don't know, I think Jamie has the biggest smile in the second picture... :-)
And Allison, I feel your pain. After our ride Barb and I switched horses and rode just a couple miles to a friends and back. My knees were not used to the different tack and now mine are sore as heck!
I made sure to leave my rope on Fancy's saddle for Allison. Wanted to complete the "cowgirl" look for our arena girl. :-)

Sounds like a good time had by all! Annie looks like she's thinking "oh the indignity of it all!" Fancy is definitely "ho-hum" ;D

Speaking of sore knees....I have a problem with mine after a long ride as well and assume it must have something to do with my stirrups or stirrup length. They seem the perfect length for me, but any suggestions? I feel reeaaaallllly old when I dismount!

Someone needs to do a "caption this" of the horses in the first photo. I don't think their expressions could have been any more different... funny Fancy says "We're done? I see somewhere else I want to go!" Annie says "What is Fancy looking at? Should I look at it too? Why are we standing here?" Dex says "...... (crickets chirping)....." Khramer says "Is that my reflection over there? Dang, I am CUTE"
