he asked you why you rescue? that's lovely. Yes, he made some other comments, and what it basically came down too was that i wasn't a serious enough equestrian for his taste. My barn, pasture, layout, tack, feeding program and background were not adequate. He liked my scruffy little ponies okay, but they were nothing compared to his irish warmblood Do you think there could be an Oedipus complex here? So now, i have a band aid on my tongue, because you never know who you will need on the weekend at o'dark thirty in the morning. ;D Thanks Buena for the lead.

Jeff and John Stenslie are brothers, both DVM's. I've used Jeff for a Zillion years. They operate out of Donida Farms. See Liz's post for contact info.

We use Dr. Robert C. DeWard.
He and his assistant Julie do NOT have a land clinic they operate out of their Vet clinic on wheels. Our horse was sick last weekend and came out on an emergency vet call and we had just moved to this top notch stables in Auburn...Dr. Robert is very well respected in this barn and anyways we thought..wip out the credit card...but he did a complete exam, administered sulfa and gave us sulfa to admin. When my husband and I received the bill...man we were SO surprised...for his mileage, emergency/weekend call and meds it was all under $150.00 and man sorry guys but he is easy on the eyes and they are both very nice...his # is 206-794-1351.

I will add a ringing endorsement to Dr. Deward. He is very kind and has cared for my horses and rescues for the last 4 years. He has recently left another practice and struck out on his own and it allows him to be more reasonable in his fees than his former practice although I would never quibble with his fees as he always far exceeds my expectations. I have managed several veterinary practices over the last 15 years(even the one he used to work for) and am extremely critical of the care my animals recieve. He more than meets my criteria.
He is kind, patient, and very well skilled in lamenesses, advanced dentistry, and breeding work. I know of one farm that is selling million dollar horses to Dubai that is using him. He treats my ancient rescues with the same care and skill as those million dollar horses and I vaue him highly for it. Anyone looking in King and Pierce County should look him up.

Dr. Bob will be giving his "famous" nutrition talk at Country Farm & Feed here in Enumclaw one Wednesday night at 6pm in conjunction with a presentation by Triple Crown Feeds. If you don't want to stay home and watch the presidential debate, you should consider checking it out! That's where I will be!

I happened to see the flyer for this talk when I was in the store the other day. He gave a similar talk backin August when we did a hay and forage class here at our place (in conjunction with LMF, King Conservation District and Horses For Clean Water).
I don't board. My horse(s) are here at home with me.

Another vote for Dr. DeWard. LOVE HIM. Truly cares about the horses and WANTS to keep it affordable so that all of our horses can receive the best of care. Extremely rescue-friendly.
