Dolce had a big breakthrough yesterday. She decided that being the big tough independent mare was a bit of a bore, really, and it would be much nicer to come put her head in the halter and get some scratches from Julie.
Today she repeated that. It took five days in the round pen, but it seems she has decided Julie is the boss and that is better.
Julie of course is totally smitten with Dolce!

Yeah, like I said elsewhere, those long distance Montana rides with Jon do a lot to take the steam out of an opinionated horse. I remember that this mare had a bit of an attitude when originally rescued and it's great to see her learning how much better life is when you work with people (well, at least the good kind of people that feed you...)
