Okay, so it really can be a small world after all. I don't know how many people saw the thread in Horses in Need about Tenaja Trai...an OTTB who ended up on a feedlot in Northern Colorado, but I was helping a rescuer there find his ID. Once we found it, I started researching his race record and found him in a race a couple of years ago up in San Francisco at Golden Gate Fields. He'd come in 3rd in a claiming race about halfway thru the card. So...minor info, not very helpful... BUT...I mention it here, because guess who won the very next race on the card. You guessed it...Go Bella Go! Our very own girl won the race after. Here's a link: www.brisnet.com/samples/h55ggx112404d.pdfScroll down to Saturday, November 20 and look at the fourth race (Tenaja's race) and then Bella won the 5th. Small, small world! ;D

How cool is that?!
Here's what the chart says:
Off slowly and not showing her normal early zip, GO BELLA GO rallied by the leaders to win this lousy event by daylight. There were big gaps between the top finishers but the rating was just par.
GO BELLA GO (Beyer Speed figure: 49) Steadied sharply start, settled, rallied outside, drew clear

Way to go Bella - a write up and everything. Little did they know, she'd end up wallowing in puddles in Monroe in her second career!

So what's the latest and greatest on this girl? Haven't heard much about her under-saddle time or anything else really in a little while... I'm still surprised she hasn't been snatched up yet. How is the leg?

I am assuming that she is somehow related to the racehorse whose picture is in the Oregonian today named Go Buster Go... Just a hunch. The story about Portland Meadows closing is on the front page. Go Buster Go is on page A5 or something. But it's color. And he's a cutie.

Squirrels, there hasn't been much under-saddle time... but, two weeks ago, a pretty well-known pro rode her. I wasn't there, but Bella's foster said the woman liked her. Bella was confused about leg, but was tracking up nicely, and was definitely listening to her rider and trying to figure out what she wanted.
I don't think there are pictures of it (*maybe* a video).
Her foster said Bella's leg has been doing fine, and she did fine while being ridden. Her foster has been working with Bella on ground manners, as she is fairly herdbound to Giffy and also can be a bit pushy on the ground. I saw her last weekend and she looks great - nice weight, starting to get her winter coat.

And the world gets smaller, I was there that weekend as I had gone down to watch Blue Imp run and see some friends, who knew I'd cross paths with some of these horses years later.
I can't wait to see pics of Bella under saddle. If I had time for a "me" horse she would be on the top of my wish list.

Hello, my name is Samantha and I have been riding horses for around 10 years now and I am a advanced western and english rider. I do all types of riding and I have been looking at Bella for a few months now, since I'm searching for a horse of my own.
Were exactly are you located in Oregon?

Hello, my name is Samantha and I have been riding horses for 10 years. I am looking for my first horse to buy and I have been looking at Bella for some time now. Would she be able to do some jumping?

Hey Samantha - sorry I didn't see this earlier.
Right now she is in Oregon City, but it is very probable she will be moved to a barn near Estacada within the next week; one of our friends will be working with her under saddle.
Our vet told us that she can be ridden on the flat for the first year or two after being restarted, and if she stays sound with that, MAYBE some light jumping. It's sort of a wait and see thing.

Hello What fun it is to read this thread. How absolutely sweet to see these special girls....and how humbling as an adult to think that these pretty little girls sent SAFE their birthday money....How is Bella doing and has she found a good home yet? She seems just made for one.

They are pretty special kids, for sure. Bella is doing great - her foster has been working with her and thinks she has a good mind, and we're in the process of moving her to a friend's place where she will be ridden consistently. She is still available for adoption.
