I second that. I'll take some flyers again this year to hit people up around here. There's a good possibility I can get my boss to sponsor a class, too!

OK, let's try this a different way. Let me completely amend what I had typed here before. I apologize also for any offense anyone took to my wording. None was intended. I will reword with no names at all involved
Perhaps I am jumping the gun a bit on sponsors, but I am wondering if anyone has anything lined up for the 2 $500 levels available or the 1 $1000 sponsorship available. I am working on a sponsor that is interested in the higher levels available only, and I do not want to commit to something that may not be available. Please PM me if you are working on something. I do not need to know who, but I would like to know if anyone else is working on this.

PHOPS (The Parrot Heads of Puget Sound) will be a General Sponsor for $100!! YEA For those who don't know: Parrot Heads are folks who love the tropical lifestyle depicted in the songs of Jimmy Buffett. My husband happens to be the local chapter president so I have a little clout with them. They LOVE charity & in fact, they are required to donate funds & time in the "giving back" spirit in order to keep their charter with the National club. They're a pretty fun crowd to and I'd be willing to bet we'll see at least a couple of tropical shirts at the show!

All - Please ask your family, friends and co-workers to sponsor a class. I did. And just from that small pool of people I brought in $450 - if they feel $50 is too steep individually - have them pair up to sponsor a class.
I asked my realtor and got an additional $250
Ask companies that you have done business with to sponsor a class (or a higher level if you paid them alot of money for a service) - your realtor, your tax person, your insurance person, your trainer, your contractor, your hairdresser - you've paid money to these people - don't you think they would kick up $50 or more to keep your business? Wouldn't it be uncomfortable for them to say no? After all the business you have given them and probably referred other people to them? Of course they will say yes! But you have to ASK them first.
Come on - people WANT to help. ASK!

Say, is there a running list of events that still need sponsors? I'm going to hit up Bennett Bigelow & Leedom (where I work) next week.....my boss (who is in charge of firm donations) will be all nice and rested after some R&R in Whistler. [Edited for spelling, among other things.]

We are still pretty wide open on Sponsorships. We still need an overall sponsor and an English division sponsor.
Due to the lack of response, we are eliminating the trophies for the regular high point awards and going with large rosettes (which are gorgeous!). These can still be "presented" by a Trophy Sponsor, but there won't be a trophy with their name engraved on it.
Overall, Western and English high point champs will get a trophy.
There are also many class sponsorships available, and you can see what is still available on the thread.
thanks met!!!

Okay, BB&L is in for a $150 general sponsorship, I'm preparing the check request today. I'm going to ask around also to see if any individual here at work wants to sponsor a class (Bella's dad Bruce comes to mind - after all, SAFE and JR gave Bella her first horse experience!). met [edited for grammar, arghh]
