I just spoke with Danielle, the very nice lady who is boarding Cricket. Apparently, Miss Cricket already has a fan club. They report that she is very nice to be around and just a kick! She spends a little time trotting around letting herself be admired, then a little more time eating, a little more time rolling, a little more time visiting her admiring public.... Ahhhhh what a life!! ;D

She seems to make friends easily, wherever she goes. May it win her a home soon.

Pictures are here!! First of all, all the riding and conformation photos are dated 1996, so she was only 3, and therefore much darker and much thinner. It's hardly recognizable as the same horse, but we know from her owner that it is indeed her. The driving photos are dated 1998, and she still is quite dark at age 5. Second of all, the spelling of her name on the back of the photos is "Krickett" so we need to fix that. On a couple of photos, there is a second name in parentheses. It is "Iberica". Pretty, huh? The photos came out of an album, and when I took the first set of 4 out, I could not get them to restick to the page again. I felt bad for the owner, so I did not unstick the remaining photos, which is why they are all together in one photo. Without further ado, here she is! And even more: photobucket.com/albums/b144/schwung/Krickett/?sc=1&multi=10

I forgot these. This is Krickett's dam and her 1/2 sibling. She is registered Paint but as you can see is a stunning buckskin!

Kricket has a couple of melanomas at her girth area, one on the left side of her head near her ear, and several small ones (like pencil eraser size) on the underside of her tail.

schwung, These tumors are in stage 1 and the tumors in her girth area make her unrideable? Sorry for all the questions just attempting to better understand. Pam In Palmdale Mom To Kiawa Gelding Extraordinaire

She is ridable. Might have to take care with the ones at the girth to protect them, etc., but I see no reason she couldn't be ridden. Just at the auction they told Kim she was only broke to drive (that as it turns out is not correct).

He looks so good with Krickett... it's a shame he didn't adopt her.

He looks so good with Krickett... it's a shame he didn't adopt her. It is a shame, because frankly, not to be mean or anything, I think Krickett will outlive a few of us. They could've had a lot of fun together.

Hay LDH! How is Krickett? Are the fosters enjoying her mouth gyrations? She is such a fun horse. I agree that it is a shame Gene didn't take her-they truly had a spark for each other. She had him grinning from ear to ear.
