Charisma is a stunning big-bodied mare with a large star and two hind socks. Approx 16H and 20 years old. She is tattooed although we could not make it out. She appeared to recently have a foal weaned from her as she was dripping milk still. Charisma has an old but visible bow on one front leg that still had some sensitivity in it on palpation (although she was not lame on it), so we had a hard time finding her forever home. Finally, a family came out to try out Monica (another CBER horse) for their 12 year old daughter, and the husband fell in love with Charisma. At the same time, I was contacted by a woman who's friends daughter had tragically died that year. The girl was in 4H and loved horses, so she offered to donate Monica's fee to a 4H home in memory of her friend's daughter. The family was contacted and told of the offer. We also asked if they would be willing in adopting Charisma, since they were now being given Monica. They happily accepted the offer. Monica and Charisma both now have a wonderful new home with one other mare on 7 acres. Here is Charisma just after arriving in foster care: And here she is showing what a lovely horse under saddle she is!:

I was searching and searching the CBER board trying to find out what became of this mare! I remember her feedlot photo was even beautiful. Not surprised to see she turned out so well!

I have been remiss in updating Charisma's thread. Poor Charisma had a tough year this year. In December she stepped on a nail and ended up with an infection in her bone. It was very serious and she almost didn't make it. She developed laminitis in her good front foot, dropped a lot of weight, and required round the clock care for several months. Fortunately, she was under the excellent and diligent care of Dr. Hannah and pulled through. We did the site visit during the middle of this ordeal, and poor Charisma was not in the best of shape. Here is a photo from site visit - Charisma had been confined to a stall for nearly 3 months at this time and was not yet out of the woods. I am hoping to get out there again soon to take some better photos now that she is feeling better!
