I'm sure most of you know who Conrad Burns is - he is the Senator (R) from Montana who slipped in the rider last year, at the midnight hour, literally, that allowed wild horses over 10 years old (and those that had been in a holding facility for over a year, if I recall correctly) to be sold to slaughter.
He also supports continuing horse slaughter for meat.
You also might know about the Abramoff scandal (lots of fun stuff if you're a political junkie like I am - hookers, kickbacks, diry $$, screwing over Native Americans, etc.) - well, it seems ol' Connie Burns is connected to it, and is being investigated...

What a classy, upstanding guy.

And if anyone has some extra change lying around and wants to utilize the campaign deduction on their taxes, consider funding Jon Tester's bid to unseat him. www.testerforsenate.com/This guy truly is an upstanding fellow, and I hope for Montana's sake he's elected.

I'd heard Tester was decent, and he's GOT to be an improvement on this pondscum...
I just read that Burnsie insulted a bunch of fire fighters, back in August. Who insults FIRE-MEN? Greedy corrupt jerks, I guess.

I'm thrilled ol' Burnsie is gone...but unfortunately Tester opposes a ban of horse slaughter as well. Plus, we have to get this passed before Burns leaves with the rest of them, that's if we can get the Senate to work on this before the year runs out.

Tester does too?! Cr*p. I didn't know that. At this point, though, perhaps he's not as beholden to the cattle industry et al as Burnsie is... time to get to work, no matter what.
