... in the Portland Metro area? Biff is gimpy today (of course he is... Leah is coming out to look at him again with her clients tomorrow morning!) I was working on his trot today, which is getting much much better under saddle. We went to the left beautifully. I reversed and went to the right, and I started posting by "feel." He was going great. When I glanced down to check my diagonal, I noted that I was on the wrong one (odd, I usually can feel the correct one), and when I switched, he went lame. Katie was watching and said that it looked like his left front was off, but it felt like his left hind, which would make sense because of the whole diagonal thing. Anyway, I walked him around and he is fine at the walk doing circles and bends and such. So I called it quits for the day and I untacked and turned him loose in the arena so he could have a good roll. When he was wandering aimlessly around the arena, I noted that his left hip drops quite a bit more than his right hip when he takes a step forward with that respective leg. I had him stop and stood directly behind him and, lo and behold, it looks like his pelvis is uneven, with the left side a good 3-4 inches lower than the right. So... I'm thinking chiropractor? I haven't had to use an equine chiro in years and am somewhat out of the loop. Anyone know of a good one in the Eagle Creek/Gresham/Sandy area?
