Although I have not been able to confirm 100%, it looks like there is an EHV (neurologic form) outbreak at Emerald Downs. This is nasty stuff and not something to mess with. I have already found all clothes I was wearing when I was there last weekend and they will get extra attention before being worn again. Here's a link to some articles about EHV. Please if you have been to EMD recently or are in contact with horses that have been, be proactive. This could shut down horse transport throughout the entire state. www.emeralddowns.com/?cat=6&id=1204&type=news

My thoughts exactly. The really worrisome thing to me is that they have a crud that goes through this time of year EVERY year and unfortunately they lose a few horses to it despite round the clock vet care. They have NEVER asked for a voluntary QT before.

That is huge! I hope everyone is managing to stay cool-headed and pragmatic about it, and even more that it is over with quickly with good results for any infected horses. Oh boy.
I can't remember - were they able to contain it back in MD and VA? Guess it's time to go read those threads.
Hang in there, jennywho
