1) I have a fly sheet with some minor holes in it... where a certain beloved horse decided she wasn't interested in having the little under-tail strap. One on each side. Is there an effective way to mend the mesh of a fly sheet, or should I just scrap it? AND 2) Does anyone know someone who can sharpen clipper blades? Can't seem to find anyone around here, so would be willing to send them out if necessary. You people are a cornucopia of knowledge, so bring it on!

I don't know how to mend the mesh of your fly sheet (I would just scrap it, but some people are probably more resourceful than I am).
I have had the feed store sharpen my clipper blades for me.

You might take it to a blanket washing/repair service - I would bet they fix fly sheets all the time.

HAHAHAHAHAHA Did I mention I'm from South Eastern Washington? We don't have any of these foolish things like blanket repair places. IF ONLY! That's why I'm trying to be resourceful.

There is a lady that lives here in Whatcom county that repairs them. You could just mail it to her and she can mail it back.

How about this? You could ask them if this would work on fly sheets - don't know why it wouldn't (maybe put something on the backside to stop it from grabbing hairs) www.justforponies.com/Merchant/Products/598.htm

Actually there is someone around here that sharpens blades. I used them afew years ago. Just dropped my blades off, and they were done in a few days. I don't use my big clippers much, since I don't body clip.. I'll see if I can't find a number for you.

Not sure if this is the place or not... but try Hutch and Company, 727-0880 There is a place in Yakima too, that is a sharpening service. The place I used afew years ago, was downtown Kennewick.

That would have worked perfectly (I suspect) but it says the item is no longer available. ARGH Maybe I'll just try to sell it as is on Ebay. It's a super nice sheet, but it's WAAAAAAY too small for Finn so it's just gathering dust. And thanks Hooti, I'll try that phone number... my friend (Arabdressage) body clipped 2 of her horses, and since she couldn't find anyone to sharpen them, just bought new blades... so now she has 3 set of dull blades!
