That's awesome, CBB! Miracle Clay is great stuff! I was told you can also put it on your horse to create a drawing effect for soreness, heat, scrapes, etc. My friend who is a distributor was having major stomach problems and she took it for a couple weeks and now is on maintenence with it and her issues are gone. I also want to get the spray that you can give yourself and your horses before a stressful event. Forgot the name of it...

You might be talking about the spray called "Relax"....... We have a mare that gets worked about easily about things......we give her some of "Relax" and it really really helps! You should spray it in their mouth or on a handful of grain - Luna doesnt mind it at all and I am a true believer. We also used the Miracle Clay for our yearling that was suffering ulcer type symptoms and it worked well for him - but more recently we have used it as a poultice on Odie's big leg. The more we use the products and find different uses for them - the more I like them.

Thanks you guys! I only have the one horse, so I'm not quite ready to take the plunge, but perhaps I can impose on one of you, in the future. I recall Megan using some kind of Dynamite product on her Appy, who had foundered before and was really cresty-necked - she said it really helped him.

OK - 3 week update into the Trifecta - it seems to really help my gelding! He's got more energy and seems brighter and more willing, he's less creaky, and his coat looks pretty shiny considering he's not had a bath in 8? months and I'm a relatively cr*ppy groomer (I can never get the mane scurf out unless I use Head and Shoulders). So far, I give Trifecta a big thumbs-up!

Trifecta is an excellent product made by HorseGuard. www.horseguard.com It has a complete multi-vitamin as well as a broad spectrum joint supplement in it. I have found it works extremely well on horses with mild to moderate levels of joint issues or for general purpose supplementation. For serious arthritic issues however I found that it did not have as much impact as feeding the regular horseguard vitamin and using Cetyl-M and Next Level together. it is an excellent product and should be used in conjunction with a program designed to not over supplement daily nutrients:) Sara in WA

Interesting, CP2MU. My gelding is 10 - I'm hoping he doesn't develop serious issues for a while yet, boy howdy.
I can't recall off-hand what the joint supps consist of in Trifecta - glucosamine (and chondroitin, I assume - is there actually science behind chondoitrin, do you know?)?

Me and my sister's horse are both on Trifecta 3-in-1. Our vet recommended it. It has a lot of selenium in it (good, 'cause the Pacific NW is selenium defecient) and aids in healthy joints, hooves and "overall performance". We havn't had our horses on it long (three weeks?), and I havn't seen any obvious results except a little bit of new, healthier hoof growth, which is always good. But Smokey and Casper were in good shape when they were put on the Trifecta, so results would be less obvious. A then again, if two of the three help joints and performance, I guess you wouldn't see it, huh? The downers...Trifecta is not cheap, and you have to feed a lot of it. 1 of the included 6-oz scoops feeds a 500 lb horse, and considering both our horses are over twelve-hundred pounds, we go through about five scoops a day. We've already used almost all of our first container of Trifecta! It's probably not the best choice for someone with a lot of horses who needs suppliments, but my vet says it works wonders. I'll keep you posted on any results I notice on our horses. jaybird, that sounds like my horse Smokey! When we bought Smokey he was really underweight, his feet were horrible and had his lameness issues. We put him on Farnam Platform Joint Suppliments, MSM, Equine Nutrition Super Weight Gain, Farrier's Secret for his hooves. Everyone hated feeding my horse for me lol. But it all worked really well, and Smokey looked like a completetelly different horse in about a month.

No kidding about the expense factor - we calculated roughly that the small tub lasts about 2 1/2 weeks for one horse, so @2$/day.

yeah, but your horse is worth it......even if you had to spend five dollars a day and start eating Top Ramen, buying your shoes at Value Village and begging change from strangers...... right?
