OK, youse PNWers, I'm about to put my 10 yo gelding on an all-around joint supp., probably Trifecta by HorseGuard (sp?) out of Redmond OR...[ftp]http://www.infohorse.com/html/ShowAd.asp?id=1746[/ftp] Several friends/trainers have recommended this stuff to me, and said it's geared to horses in the PNW.
Has anyone here used it?

I haven't, love the name though. (go baby, go!) I've just decided to take a page out of Peri's book and put Jay on Recovery EQ. Oliver gets a glucosimine/MSM formula made by SmartPak. Yes, I've gone SmartPak. Jay gets Recovery EQ, 2 servings of Cool Calories, 2 servings of Vitamin E, and 2 servings of Augment (a multivitamin) Yes, his smartpak is 7 tubs long, it's embarrassing. Ol gets Smart Flex, Smart Vite Easy Keeper (a vitamin also by SmartPak) and a Vitamin E/Selenium.

I've never used it, but I am very interested to hear more about it and any changes you see. Right now, I have had good luck with Dynamite products using the TNT and free and easy. I've noticed that both my horses appear to be moving really well and appear to have less soreness issues, and my ol' boys fetlock doesn't pop everytime I pick his hind feet. Do you know what about the supplement has it geared towards PNW horses?

Geez JB - Does that make Jay a horsechondriac or a hypoequinedriac ? Good thing you aren't at a boarding barn! Where all the other horses would be looking at Jay like he's an addict!

Yesterday he took one bite of his dinner and literally ran out of his stall gagging and spitting. He eventually ate it all, but he was very put out. Methinks I must split the supplements over a few different meals.
I love hypoequinedriac...or it could be hippochondriac?

I'm trying to get my 2 on bug check - Chewy (Mr. I will eat anything) did manage to gag it down but - gave me that "For the record - you SUCK" look.
Redmond - sniffed his dish and I got the "In your dreams" look and walked away. (AND he hates beet pulp so - that's out) Here comes the applesauce.

Ahhh Recovery EQ - I put my dog on the SA stuff, but took him off it when my dog's vet said there'd been links between grapes and liver failure (I think it's made from grape skins ? ) in dogs. SOoo many people swear by Recovery EQ. Bill Basham and his wife love the Dynamite stuff, too - but is it true that you can't buy it unless you become a distributor? As for the Trifecta, it's the Selenium that gears it to the PNW, I think - and also it's made locally, which I would assume means that it's a bit more fresh(?). I'll keep you posted, as soon as I get my hands on some and start feeding it! (and I love hearing about everyone's supp. choices! As a re-rider, the whole supp. thing is so different than it was 20-odd years ago, when sweet feed was ubiquitous, and worming was done by tubing!)

You can buy it in the stores, but it is super pricey that way as they mark it up way too much (in my opinion compared to wholesale price), so the best way to buy it is to A) either become a distributor or B) have a really good friend that is a distributor...so, fortunately B is my option of choice right now... I don't think it costs too much to become a distributor, so I might look into that eventually, but I wanted to make sure my kiddos were going to benefit from it before I made the investment. That's funny about the sweet feed and tube worming!!! ;D I remember those days as well when that's just what you did, and feeding sweet feed to my already hot Arabian was it, but I didn't know better.

I love NExt Level. I've had my dog on it for the past 2 years, and if she doesn't get it for a day, you can totally tell. Its true you have to be a Distributor to sell Dynamite, BUT you can buy the product from a Distributor. If you are interested in purchasing it and have a few horses, it worth it to sign up.. I did 2 months ago... Yes, Bill and Angie are big Dynamite people. I've talked to them many times about sendign my Arab to them. Since being a distributor I have purchased afew things for my dogs as well. The Showdown and Free and Easy. My dog has never moved as well as she has the last couple of days. I am very pleased!!! As far as feeding horses a joint supplement, I've never had to yet. I have fairly young horses right now, so no need. BUt I'd definately do the Free and Easy with them, or the Dynamite TNT.

I've been giving a little bit of the TNT to my doggies as well, as my friend said that it was okay to do, and they have been feeling super good and their coats are looking SO good! Same with the horsies!

I feel the need for yet another experiment on Laddie, then! (poor guy, suffers through my "which topical anti-inflam. works best" "which cheater coat-coater works best" "which wound treatment works best" "which shop vac attachment works best" questions)
This means one of you guys has to become a Dynamite distributor so you can sell that stuff to moi! ;D For now, I'll start him on the Trifecta, and see how that goes for a few months.
Keep the suggestions/experiences coming, though!

It's all in the name of love and wanting the best for them!! My Arab just munches down anything, but when I started my TB on the free and easy (which smells really good by the way), she snorted at it and the powder went flying everywhere, turned her nose up, rolled her eyes, and was totally disgusted at the fact that she yet had another product added to her grain...if they only knew how much we loved them and just want them to feel GOOD!
I think Hooti4me said she was a distributor, but I am a believer in the Dynamite products, so I am leaning more towards becoming one, so let me know if you are interested. ;D

Dr Hannah Evergreen is a Dynamite distributor as well - so if anyone wants more info on any Dynamite products let me know and I can get it to you or have Hannah call and talk to you about it - or order whatever you need. I personally swear by the Miracle Clay and the Dyna Pro - they have both worked wonders for our horses.

Yup, I am a Dynamite distributor.. if you need anything, let me know.. More then willing to help out anywhere I can. Its really worth signing up if you use the products. Its only $20. a year, and you don't really have to buy an minimum. Just $100 sign up fee, and $150 worth of products, but free shipping the first order. My first order was way over $400.
Yes, Miracle Clay and Dynapro... don't be without! The clay has really helped my little arab, as I was pretty convinced he has ulcers...
