POCKETS>>>>>> you listen up boy! you got it good up there.....now eat!
did you try luring him with some senior grain, with some warm water added?...maybe some applesauce? or molassess?
when my old guy doesn't want to eat, I take a bucket with warm water, put in some molasses.......and he drinks it. Molasses is chock full of iron.....

How about some soaked alfalfa pellets to temp him into eating again. Most horses cannot resist the alfalfa.

dr. Dana just left. yes pockets is loosing weight. she took some blood ssamples and we are hoping he is just being finicky. We are going to stop the beat pulp and still give him soaked sr. pellets mixed with bread, applesauce or whatever we can con him into eating that day. She will have blood tests back friday.

Well, some horses really don't like beet pulp, my picky TB being one of them. I hope he decides he finds something he likes to eat! Keep us posted on the bloodwork.

I have had horses that did not like the mash unless it was warm and you might try Purina Equine Senior in a mash.......I have fed the pelleted Sr feed before and had horses turn up their nose but not to the Equine Senior. I am sooooooo crossing my fingers as are all of my critters for Pockets!!!!!! hang in there little guy! !

Yes, I have horses that hate beet pulp, but love rice bran.
Anything molasses-y tends to make them eat. You can buy molasses at the grocery store and dribble it on anything you're trying to make them eat.

My TB Petey initially does not like beet pulp.......I start off with small amounts mixed into his senior feed......then ramp it up every couple of days until he is eating about a water bucket a day (1/2 am and 1/2pm).......of course I still mix his senior feed into it......occasionally apple sauce or molasses if he seems picky....and he gets as much hay as he can eat and poop on....he is very finicky about hay.
