The show was a WILD success! I overheard a spectator's conversation saying how impressed they were with the turnout and all the classes. I am so proud to be involved with such an awesome group of people!

Jaybird and Kahluacowgirl went above and beyond in their efforts for the show. Huge THANK YOU!!!
We had many people ask if it was to be an annual event and comment on how much fun it was.
My girls and KCG's son had fun riding some of our oldies in the leadline and Shante and Heidi both did great in riding classes too. The SAFE horses were showcased well.

Here are some of my pictures. Most of mine didn't turn out very well...my camera had trouble with taking still shots indoors, but the video came out great! Here is Cat riding Heidi at a canter. Isn't she adorable?

Vanna in her stall: Dobbin: Color Halter - huge class! Rescue horse halter, Vanna and I: Cat and Heidi: Shante: Vanna, with Buena/Liz and Cat/Heidi in the background. Horse on far left is a Hytyme BLM horse named Fury who cleaned up in the games, was high point Rescue Horse and who also won the sit-a-buck! The girl riding him could RIDE! Vanna doing halter (sorry, there are a lot of Vanna since Mike had the camera most of the day): Another huge class: Heidi and Cat: Doing the Pony Pleasure class: Pairs Pleasure: Silent Auction display and the posterboards that Laurie's (trillium) daughter did: Shante with Patti's son Tucker doing leadline (and Jenny's hubby Bill leading): And a few more of Vanna and I in our Walk/Trot class:

Okay, I know I saw it in person, but watching the video choked me up a little bit to see that sweet girl who fell off the trailer at WLF's place, and look at her now!! Cat, you did awesome with her!

Heidi was fun! She is very green but what a good mind she has! Nothing bothered her, not the bleachers, not the announcer, not the other horses...she is going to be such a good horse for some lucky kid with some more fine tuning. She stood on a loose rein waiting for classes like she had been to a million shows. And yes, I saw her on day 2 or 3 at WLF's place and it is even hard for me to believe she is the same horse. She is not at all thin now. She will always be small but that is good as she can show as a large pony! And she is so well mannered. She let us scrub her back legs, shampoo her, condition her tail, clip her. You could not touch those back legs just a few months ago. P.S. There is no such thing as too many pictures of Vanna the beauty queen!

I don't know if anyone noticed rider 111, but she was riding her horse who must have had a horrible accident in the past as both of his eyes were gone, but that horse went wherever she told him to go, what a horse!

Oh, this one is pretty nice: www.kaufholtzphotography.com/gallery/3235739#178865304The one after that, I know exactly what was going on - she wouldn't take her right lead and we were fighting about it behind the judge's back. According to Chelsea, I got the lead before the judge turned around - woo hoo! This halter picture is cute, where we are looking at each other. www.kaufholtzphotography.com/gallery/3235739#178865173Chelsea pointed out to me later that Chanel did not have a curb strap on the bridle when I hopped on her for walk trot - no wonder it felt like I was riding a runaway buffalo, LOL! (What am I doing with my toes?...I am going to have to take Cardicorgi up on her offer to go out and be tortured on a longe line with no reins and no stirrups. My eq is appalling these days, ha ha!)

Oh poor boy, but his owner must love him dearly. How proud they must be of him doing the show with no sight.

I don't know if anyone noticed rider 111, but she was riding her horse who must have had a horrible accident in the past as both of his eyes were gone, but that horse went wherever she told him to go, what a horse! Oh my gosh! Wow! What a special horse! I was at a rodeo this Fourth of July and they had a cermony for two of the rodeo staff members who had passed away in the past year...they led two horses into the arena with empty saddles and boots turned backward in the stirrups, symbolic of the "fallen rider". The ceremony was beautiful enough, but later I noticed that one of the "riderless horses" was missing his right eye! The same horse carried a sponsor flag throughout the whole rodeo. Can you imagine, a horse running full gallop around a rodeo arena, flag waving, crowd cheering...rodeos are nerve wracking enough for horses with full vision! What special horses

I just have to say that this was SO fun! My daughter, Faith, and I had a fantastic time and y'all put on a great show. This was our first show ever that we competed in. Well, I took her in a leadline class earlier this year and we've done playdays, but this was special.
Thanks to all who volunteered their time and efforts. It was very appreciated and you made a little girls year by making it so fun. She still thinks she "won" the silent auction item, and I don't have the heart to tell her we had to pay for it. :-)
Anyway, I just came on to say a huge "Thank you" for a great first experience for me and my kid (other than that leadline class last February). I know a few of you and hope to know many more as we meet at other SAFE shows. Hint, hint. Nudge, nudge. :-)
Oh, and that beautiful old boy, Dodge...I get to see his sweet self every day. He is truly the best horse a girl could have.

Lisa, your daughter's pictures are SO cute - go look at the photographer's site. That little mare Panda is a GEM. She really takes care of her. It doesn't matter how much Faith kicks, Panda goes only as fast as she can handle

Oh my gosh, Bonnie and I loved Faith! She came to the "office" and kept us company (and entertained!) for quite a bit, and proudly pointed you out each time you rode past. She is CUTE! This was a blast, Patti and Bonnie did a fantastic job IMO, and I hope we do it again. Next time, perhaps I'll know more about what I'm doing, and how these kinds of shows work! ;D The bribe-your-horse class was a hoot, though hazardous to the judges ;D - I saw at least 2 horses kick out very close to Cathy's head! (ha ha and Cathy I'd be happy to torture longe you sans stirrups, anytime! I need to do it too, I haven't really ridden in 6 weeks!)
