Many more to come, of course, but these are some of mine! It was every bit as big of a show as we had hoped for! Buena, Heidi and Chanel in the rescue halter...with of course their moms caught merrily chatting away. Heidi fell asleep and refused to trot. Well, better lazy than crazy! Shante was a very good boy but he also got tired after a few classes. He was very well behaved, acted like an old hand about showing, and may have found an adopter at the show - we will know soon! Oslo, an ex-CBER horse who is now with Hytyme, won 2nd in the rescue halter. He is HUGE. That is Ashley leading him. Katie and her rescued horse Chanel have won a lot of high points. I'm still waiting to hear if they got the rescue one, because I had to go to work. Chanel does everything from halter to barrels. We had a lot of the local kids turn out to show, and they had a great time. Costume is always fun - this was the winner! Old CBER horse Dodge is showing his age in his face but not in his legs - he's perfectly sound and won as high as 2nd in the speed events! The trail course was a hit! Trillium's goats hung out making sure the trail horses were goat-proofed. Can't wait to see everybody else's pictures. There was a pro photographer there, so MUCH better pictures are coming!

I was the person in charge of the silent auction, and I think we took in $559.50 from the silent auction alone. WOW. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the baskets. I also think we sold around $400 in prize drawing tickets. My mom helped me sell the tickets. I want to thank my husband Kurt too, he was the gate person all day long. Never grumbled once. Oh, except to say he could have used a cold beer. LOL Here is a link to the professional photos as well. www.kaufholtzphotography.com/S.A.F.E.%20Horse%20Show

I am so sorry I missed the show, I planned to go up until about midnight on Friday night, I was to get off of work at 2:00am Saturday morning and drive straight down with my daughter, she called me and said the baby was sick. I wimped out about driving alone after work with no sleep....grrrr I'm mad at myself and decided I was "LAME". I'm so happy everyone had a great time and Sione and I will be there next year. Congratulations of all and SAFE for such a wonderful event.

I love all the pictures! I hope this was a huge success (financially) for safe and will become an annual event.
Did any of our favorite rescue ponies find new homes?

That's super to hear about the silent auction and prize drawings!! WOW!! Your husband Kurt was so awesome! He definitely stepped up to the plate and did what it took to get the job done, and he was always so happy to do it-never complained one bit! edit to add: The pictures from the leadline class are adorable! JR and Peri's daughter did so great! JR's face is so expressive, and it looks like he is super happy to have a job!

These are only a SMALL portion of the pictures taken and I am sure they don't have them all up yet (they posted it will take a few days). I do see some nice photos of Buck and JR in the leadline classes! (with Peri's daughters riding) Don't they look adorable?

No, Whiskey didn't make it. She would have been a hit in the halter classes!! Being a colored Quarter and all.

Everyone there was SO wonderful... the day went pretty dang smooth considering the large number of people in attendance and that is thanks to all the volunteers and SAFE Members who really stepped up doing whatever needed to be done when it needed to be done! The photographer will have more photos in the coming days; from lunchtime on they were pretty busy and got plenty of orders that they have to fill also. Our Judges were fabulous! Kurt, Bill, Mike & Cat kept the set ups, gate and timed events going wonderfully - Everyone was simply GREAT... nobody could honestly hope to work with a better group of people!
