Well, the only source of heat in my downstairs is a pellet stove. I ran some errands and came back and the darn thing had run out of pellets and shut itself off. For some reason after that, I could NOT get the darn thing to ignite again (too cold maybe?). All I know is it took me over 2 hours to get it to finally start and by that time my house was an icebox. Now I get to go outside and break ice on buckets and bring horses in

I bundled up real good today and went out riding . Boy it was cold, but I sure did get a good work out- run trying to catch the horse, work with the colt, try to catch the other horse, round pen the horse, blanket the horses, feed them, and then go home , oh and somehow I managed to squeeze in riding as well . by the time I was finished I had worked up quite a sweat! the power did go out at our house, but I was too busy with the horses to notice .

After the 2 months of rain - I'm looking at this cold as a blessing. It's way easier to muck up after the horses...there's lots of cuddle time when working out side as I have to stick my hands under their blankets to keep warm...and I love watching them breathe in the cold air. Best of all - it's dry!

Too funny Peri. Maddy was poop scooping the dogs poopies yesterday and said the same thing. She said mom this is the bomb picking up poop when it's frozen! First time ever I have seen her happy to poop scoop for the dogs. I recomend having any child poop scoop dog poop for a summer and then send them mucking up after a horse. Maddy is glad to clean up after Barbie. No smell and no sticking or smashed on the shovel She's not complained once. .
