Yesterday a group of SAFE volunteers joined together for a work party at our main foster care location in Elma, WA. Most of us had to get up at the wee hours of the morning to be there for the vet by 8am. Present were: - Clayton and Gwendie Carroll, foster family, and their 3 lovely children - Amy (gypsygirl), her husband, and their two daughters - Karen (certifiedgirl) and Cardicorgi (Jenny), who came together from down south with a trailer to haul out Larkspur and Azalea - Bonnie (Jaybird), Peri (pdevlieg) and myself (Jaime) who came together from up north We handled a several-hour vet visit while scrubbing and treating rain rot and brushing and loving on the horses. We went to the feed store and bought extra feed for the horses, had hay delivered which was brought in and stacked. We took photos, we wormed horses, and we also went and bought a birthday cake for Gwendie Carroll as we learned midway through the day that it was her birthday. At the end of the day we shared cake with our wonderful foster family, talked and relaxed. Karen and Jenny's adventure continued on as they dropped off Larkspur in Vader and Azalea in Raymond. It was a long, tiring, but very productive day. I just wanted to show a picture showing most of the group: (left to right: pdevlieg, certifiedgirl, cardicorgi, jaybird and schwung)

WHAT a bunch of miscreants! It's a good thing no beer was involved. The trailer was loaded and the girls were ready to go, otherwise Amy would have been in that picture too. Knee brace and all.
