it's like in that song, you know:
"I'm dreaming of a white....Valentine's day, Just like the ones I used to know. After days of sunshine You think it's springtime But no, no no no no no....
I'm dreaming of a white Valentine's day Of eating chocolate in the snow May your horse be cranky, and biiiiiiiiiite, And may all your valentines be white"

Yeah, 2 inches. My husky was thrilled but the cat, alas, was not.

And here I was thinking that the news stations were making UP the snow because there were no new political scandals.... Stay warm, CE. It snowed in the hills in Portland this morning - yet the daffodils and crocuses (croci?) are in full bloom...

Oh, I am envious of the daffodils and crocuses... another 2 months at least for us before they appear... At least, now it looks more normal again... everything is white.. not brown, muddy and wet like most of January.. which was most unusual.

Well, despite it snowing at 2:30am when I went to feed the horses (yes, I was still up...having a little problem sleeping lately), we got absolutely NOTHING here at my house that stuck. Jaybird, one town over, has 2 inches. I feel cheated.

Just don't laugh at our excitement over a few paltry inches of snow. We see it so rarely and I LOVE SNOW. At least manageble snow. I don't know what I would do with 21 inches. I have heard Kim's stories about Cleveland. shudder. I am not sure that I could stand the cold. Here in the PNW cold is 20. Think of the humidity. This makes the temperature penetrate to the very marrow of your bones, and..... we have thin blood...... ;D Seattle shuts down at 2 inches. Of course, downtown Seattle is very hilly, picture SanFrancisco and the snow melts a bit during the day and becomes......ICE and then the fun begins. Of course, this is when we actually have snow. There wasn't any here when I got here. I live 35 miles north of Seattle, where the snow is/was.
