Hi all I rescued 2 kittens about 2 yrs ago from a "Cat Lady" and she had not vaccinated any of her animals, so these poor babies had a nasty virul infection in there eyes. It's one that you get shots for because my other kitty had shots already and he hasn't gotton it ever. The vet said that once they get it they have it for life and they just keep trying different meds to see what will help the symtoms. We have tried 4 different meds so far in drop form, 2 antibiotics orally, and ointments. The last drop med was $96 for 1 oz, ouch!! And it didn't make much difference. I thought I would post here and ask as sometimes people have found their own remedies to help animals with things the vet just hasn't herd of yet. They are heathly otherwise and have no issues with energy or fun, they just always have to put up with one of their eyes watering all the time and they squint all the time in it. I feel so bad for them, that must be awful to deal with that everyday. I am going to suggest to our vet to give us something that at least will make the eye numb or something so that they don't feel it at least. Here are a few photos. Basil on a bad day Luna on a bad day Squinting again, but still cute, Luna is a big goober, she makes us laugh all the time. She will chase you down the hall and around the island in the kitchen. Luna on a good day Basil on a good day Any suggestions or advise would be great. I have nothing to loose. We have tried all the vet has to offer. Next we will be trying naturalpath methods and see how it goes. Thanks

I have no suggestions (my kittens came with the eye crud also, the first set of kittens I treated, the second I didn't and it went away on its own anyway and my other cats never got it). I hope something works for them. Beautiful cats though!

My mom's cat is like that. I swear it gets worse the more humans are around. We say she is allergic to humans. Anyways, antihistaimes seem to help her some, but i really just think it is something they have to live with. We got her from a shelter. My vet said its herpes. Its a common virus that cats have.
