This off the CBER board:
When we rescued Kermit and Lily from the Yakima feedlot, we did not realize that they were pregnant. We are not a rescue that is set up to care for pregnant mares and/or their foals. So, we are sad to announce that we must move these mares out asap.
If you are interested in adopting Kermit or Lily, please contact me at 425-214-6518.
Since these mares' bail was paid for by generous members of CBER, there will be no fee for their adoption. We would like to see them go to the right home that is set up to care for pregnant mares and their foals.
Thanks, Juliane

I think these Ladies are doing wonderful things, and I have been following their BB also. CGS is doing wonderful things for the horse world, and the rescue world. Think about Patience!!!
It is so easy for people to make judgments about people without knowing the full story. It is OK to disagree with what they write on their BB, but I don't agree with all of the horrible things being said about them, and to them on their board and CBER's. They are human just like the rest of us, and are trying to do whats best for everyone involved, horses and themselves.
I am going to support them even though I do not agree with euthanizing a foal. If I do remember correctly Juliane was not the one to mention that, it was another person. Let's be helpful and not hurtful. I see the hurtful side of people way too often on the internet.

edited to add: I certainly hope it was not anyone from this board that left those horrible messages on the Cowgirl Spirit Board, whomever this Steveastair is....

I have written post after post to respond to this situation and then promptly deleted them. I learned a hard lesson from my angry reaction to the Duncan situation. These mares have occupied my thoughts since I read the first announcement from CGS, because I made an emotional investment in Kermit and a monetary investment in Lily. All I can say is, I'm very, very disappointed.
I can't say any more than that, because I can do very little to correct the situation and make it right for Kermit and Lily. I talked it over with the family last night and we will be making changes. However those changes will take time and sacrifice and can't come soon enough to help these girls. Hopefully, though, I will be there for the next Kermit or Lily or Sarah, whatever their issues. That's what rescuers do.
