Yeah, I know...I was thinking the same thing. Maybe next time, we'll be able to go and do some bidding. We already know two individuals that need to be outbid (G.R. and S.P.)

There are some scary low prices listed.
Can you contact any of the buyers you think might be less likely to provide a good home and offer 50 to 100 more than what they paid? If they are just in it for the buck, they'll come back with a price, if they are in it for racing, they will let you know they aren't interested.
I have a gelding by Turkoman who won $175,000. I am glad to see the Turkoman offspring was a no sale.

Sorry, I guess no need to be discreet. GR is Guy Roberts - he is the one that dumped Class Act, Charisma, Kona, and Nala. He routinely dumps his broodmares at the feedlot. Stephen Peterson was alluded to over on the CBER thread, I believe he is another of the same "type" - one who's hands you don't want your mares to end up in.

What are these guys like? Would they be approachable about listing the broodies they want to move? Probably not, but if they need to get rid of them and we have a place to list them...maybe one day we could convince them to list them here first before dumping them at auction.

www.washingtonthoroughbred.com/IndAddrs/Rescue.htm Maybe I should write the WA TB site and ask them to post a definition of "rehoming." Safe - I hope the breeding farms will use us as a resource, too. The low prices at the auction could be a big incentive and selling point. [and obviously are an indication of how much profit places like CB make]
